Sled Rentals & Where to find snow.

:help:

Ok, I've searched around a bit, but still want a little more info. I have family coming into town the day after Christmas and staying 'til Jan. 2nd. They want to rent 1 or 2 sleds and have me take them out for a ride.

So, I guess the first thing I need to find out is the snow situation. I've been hearing there's enough for at least a road ride (and a little off road) in some places. I'm going to take the 4-wheeler and the sled up Guardsman's and AF Canyon tomorrow to check out the situation, but I was also wondering about the Daniels/Strawberry area, and possibly Timberlakes. Anybody been up there or heard anything about the current conditions? I don't know that we'll need to get off the road too much, as I'll be riding with beginners. So, I'm not looking for 10 feet of snow (well I am, but you get the idea :D), but just enough to take my cousin and his wife and kids out for the day to have a little fun in the snow.

Now on to the rentals. Obviously the easiest option will probably be to ride out of Daniels Summit Lodge, and i've also seen info on Mtnpull and his Uinta Recreation. Those 2 are definitely options if we go up around that area, but are there any recommended places down in the Salt Lake Valley to rent if we decide to go up Guardsman's or AF???

Thanks in advance for any info. :peace:

Sorry I can't offer any help as far as the SLC Valley is concerned, but I put my vote in for Uinta Recreation :)

I'll vote for Uinta Recreation as well! haha. Really though if you are looking for 2up style 550's for the beginners I only have one day with only 2 left and that is Thursday the 29th. The rest of the week all of my 550's are booked. Daniels Summit has enough snow for a trail ride, but I absolutely wouldn't get off trail up there yet. Plus Daniels Summit is grooming. I am pretty sure that is the only grooming you will see in northern Utah. If you are interested in those two ups, have them call me asap as they will be booked out soon enough. Where ever you go, be careful and have fun.
