Sled recovery in Wolf Creek Pass area?

There was an avalanche in the Wolf Creek pass area yesterday afternoon that claimed the life of one of our nephews. My brother, his 2 boys and 2 other nephews were riding when this happened. They are in no shape or condition to go after the sleds. I've never been to the area before, kind of looking for information on who to get ahold about getting 2 sleds out. I have very limited information from my brother at this point. Any information on who to contact would be greatly appreciated. From what I've gathered so far is a throttle cable was icing up on one sled and caused it to stick to full throttle. That sled went into a ravine and received significant damage. Nothing has been said about the condition of the other sled.

Sled Recovery

Top Notch, Myself and two of my riding buddies went in and recovered both of the sleds on 2-6-16 and they are now stored at Matt Entz house under lock and key. We were able to do a bush fix on the one sled to get it out and located the other sled in the avalanche debris and dug it out. So sorry for the loss of your family member and our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. There is no hurry to come get the sleds as they are not in the way or a problem at all. Take all the time you folks need to come get them. If there is anything else we can do for you feel free to call me. My number is 719-849-1883.

First off a big thank you to the 3 of you for going in and bringing those sleds out. We greatly appreciate this effort. I visited with Mr. Black on Monday morning, that was a great conversation with him. I've talked with a lot of people in this community since this and everyone has been exceptionally helpful. I'll get ahold of you a visit also. Thank you to you guys very much.
David's funeral was yesterday, this has been by far the hardest times our family has ever dealt with. He is an outstanding young man that had a way about him that is unexplainable. He loved his duramax's and the sight of a dressed up peterbilt with all chrome and big pipes. We did have a bit of a laugh after the burial ceremony as soon as they said this completes the service there was a Pete with straight pipes jake braking all the way by. Was kind of a bittersweet good buy.
We come from a big family, the love and support is very strong amongst us. I'm also happy to be part of the snowest family, you guys and gals are also there for people in whatever they need. Thank you very much, Wesley.

Sounds like he was an exceptional man Wes, im sure he will be sorely missed and often remembered for the life he lived and the things and people he loved. That was actually me (Darren Black) that you spoke to on Monday. I glad we were able to help in the families time of need so you all of you could deal with things that were more pressing at home. I look forward to meeting you as well as other family members at some point under better circumstances. All the best to you and we will be in touch. As I stated before the sleds are fine here for as long as necessary.

Top notch service from a fellow snowester if you ask me...you guys sure did a nice thing for these South Dakotans. I'm from South Dakota and I know the people there bend over backwards to help each other...so I know if the shoe is ever on the other foot you wouldn't have to ask twice for help:face-icon-small-hap
