I was not trying to start anything or insult anyone or even leave the good films out.
jlowe7.... I fully get your point but that clip is a great example of talented riders and just OK editing. Obviously from a youtube clip it's hard to tell if it was filmed on real film or video which on a big screen changes the feel in itself. But things like keeping the rider centered in frame, using a tripod or steady cam instead of shaky hand helds, the pan speeds etc. all make up a good edit. Watch it again a few times and pick some things out. Imagine how cool some of those chute climbs in movies would be, or the jump sequences if they used a cable cam. Perfect example Check out the new Mastercraft x-star boats promotional videos on their website done in florida last summer... longest cable cam shots ever on film (any film)and most would swear it was a super low level heli shot. Alex Fostveld (from Freeride Entertainment but working on his own) did that one. The NFL looks better than CFL on TV for a reason and the CDN guys have been in TV for years to. Again not trashing anyone, I'm just saying cool is not always pro and there is always room to improve.
And I agree, 509 does look great, I'll be buying it.
Cheers

It seems that there are two genres in the sled film industry, big climbing and big air. No disrespect to the guys doing the extreme of either but I hope to see young riders take notice and really push themselves to be the best in both worlds. I think everyone has seen the gardiners, kyles, and alfords jump everything known to man and short of seeing story or davidoff climb everest on a turbo I think we seen pretty much everyhting there. what we haven't seen is the chute guys learn to launch there sled off the chute they just climbed, imagine that. Davidoff turnout just near the top of giant chute and side hillig across to one of the many available cliffs and droping 150' off it. Can't really imagine it but it is only a matter of time before some of the young riders figure out that to bring something new to the table they will have to learn to be that guy. Watching Chris Burandt is the closest thing today I think and everyone will agree there is just not enough footage of him out their. With the stock sleds getting so capable, you don't need 40g to be the big chute climber anymore. Just need the skills and a large sack![/QUOT
I am trying! So far I think I have the climbing thing figured out and launching of the top. (not always with me sled either)lol. It's just turning around and juming of what I just climbed that scare's the shyt out of me.
