Sled lifts

I made one per the directions in the first link. I work as a machinist foreman and did it at work (don't tell anyone). The track spins when on the lift. Mine is just heavy because I over built it, but that's my fault. It fits my Switchback (144in.) . You could make it longer for long-tracks. Is stable enough for me to feel comfortable running it when lifted and getting under when not running.

I made one from the top set of plans as well and it works well, I changed some of the tube size to 2" X 1" to save a few buck and it is still very stable. It can also be turned sideways and be an atv lift.

The best lift is the Handy Lift but they are expensive, found in many bike & sled dealerships. Rated at 1500 lbs, adjustable heights, bulletproof. They have an air lift & an electric one. I made mine longer & wider- 4' by 8' but that isn't necessary. If you have cycles then it's easy to fit a bracket to catch the skiis & keep the stock lift narro for bikes. For info go to www.handy-lift.com. If you want more info or pictures let me know.

a few years back i bought a lift from sledlift.com. I havent been able to locate them these days on the internet.

The lift however is terrific. I would recommend it to anyone. It came fully assembled UPS to my house. The thing I like best about it is that it is on wheels and so I can easily move the sled aroung my garage.

I dont know if they folded or sold out.

lift

hey bro,

I JUST bought and started using my new lift. It was $479 at Habour Freight tools. It uses air power to lift up and down with ease. I love it, it has a little foot lever. It has a safety catch for peace of mid and saftey and cast iron rollers to easily move it around. The deck is 24 inches wide, plenty of room. It came in a crate to Habour Freight tools on special order so I did not have to pay shipping and took me 20 minutes to open and use. The same lift online at other places is going for $600 or more and then you have to pay $150 to get it shipped to you. I am hooking a 2000 wich up to my ceiling to lift the back end so I can drop the skid to do work back there. Right now on their website they have it at $529 but in store it may be less. The item code is 94813-8VGA. By the way it is a scissor lift which is much stronger.

good luck
