sled is almost done...........

Very nice!!!

I really like the home made tunel sides.. super clean work...

Good to have that clearance on the track huh?

The tanks with the wraps are actually decent looking... plus you know how much gas you have with the clear tank at all times...

thanks eric...yeah the tunnel clearence is much better, I also raised the running boards 1.5 in. oddly enough i lost weight doing it this way..I ran the polaris steel hitch bumper and between it, the steel suspension mnts, and the tunnel material I removed I lost about 4-5 pds...the tunnelsides weighed 6.5 pds each without the running boards on them....yeah I figure the tank will grow on me..especially if it has a wrap.....

Does Curt have a website? Air hacksaw. I have a lot of tools but that is one I'd have to add to my list.
I'd like to catch up to you one of these days that you come my way to ride to see how this new XP I got compares and if I want to spend the coin on my D8. I switched the track on the XP and heard it was one of the best mods you could do on the D8 as well. I loved my D8 last year when it was running on two pistons but wished it trenched a little less. This sounds like the ticket.

curts website is http://www.ftxmotorsports.com/about.html
would love to compare them..my best friend just got a 10 doo as well..the sides we made for it are still out getting coated...

as for your sled trenching..most of that can be cured with clutching..try some of these setups....http://www.snowestonline.com/forum/showthread.php?t=128754

Thanks for the info!

Thanks Mike. I'll check out Curts website. Maybe we could get together in January sometime. I have the same XP as your buddy but have made a number of fairly simple (and hopefully beneficial) mods to it. Still up in the air as to which chassis I like better. I really love my D8 but the XP is growing on me. Still don't think the XP will carve on the downhill slopes like the D8 does.

Thanks again for all the info.

with a little luck I will be riding most every weekend(have my kids everyother week so sometimes they arnt in the mood..but mostly they are game...

Damn awesome sled Mike! And yes, the tank if fugly. Let me know if you are getting rid of it though, I'd make good use of it.

Well now we know what Mike does for fun, LOL. Smart too, lots better to use $ to mod the way you want rather than update sled and start over again.
Is the Xtreme still 8#'s heavier or did they go on a diet like everything else?

sweet bike man!
what all have you done to it and what would be your top 5 to do list
thanks let ut snow

they are still heavy Ron, considered the PC but didnt like the driver issues and have just found that in the majority of the areas I ride the camo seems to hook up better....

right now the motor is bone stock 10 updated..I do have a slp single and vf -3's for it but till it proves to be reliable it will stay stock(turbo coming sooner or later most likely as well as a 3in. track)it is well clutched, geared, and vented, complete holz suspension/float 2 shocked,09 frt plastic, swaybar, has a drop and roll, camo-x 2.5 163 trackand a bunch of small things done to it..as far as what top things to do?..good clutching would be #1, a better track(pc or camo x) would be #2 if you are getting beat on by M's and Xp's, good boards #3, #4 good venting and last lots of maintanence to keep it reliable.....

Sled looks GREAT Snowrider, can't wait to see it on the mountains! Your finnishing up at a great time...we finally have a good base. Two bad everyone didn't get the 2'+ we got here in the back 40 of Eagle River this week.

After posting that scary "helmet hair" pic in the Powder Room, did the sled chicks all help fund this buildup? :D

LMAO...you ever seen a girl give money vrs take money..all I heard over there was bring lots of booze if ya want girls to ride with ya...:beer;:beer;:Dyeah sled came out pretty good..hopefully will get the last few things done on it and be riding this coming weekend....WE ride Eureka alot..(cabins 50 miles in) and the whole reason for the tunnel reinforcment is due to pulling sleds(had done a reinforcment before but when I tore it down to do the drop and roll I could see where it was starting to bow the tunnel again..so figured I better get it fixed..)
