Sled insurance

Fairly new to sledding. I can't believe you can actually insure snowmobiles for crash damage. If they knew what we did to these things and where we rode them I don't think that would be offered. I have Mutual of Enumclaw insurance on my house and cars. Added the sleds and trailer. Average cost of about $160 a sled and about $70 for the trailer. Seems cheap. What are you guys paying. BTW, my broker wanted to know that he would LOVE to help anyone with their toy insurance so if you want contact info let me know. Mutual of Enumclaw has REALLY good service and claim, kinda hard to qualify for but once you have it they take care of you, really easy to deal with. One bad part is when I added my boys this year to the car insurance it almost tripled our cost, was way cheap before they were driving.

I pay about $324 a year for full coverage with Allstate

$202.00 a year - Nationwide.

I wrecked my sled last year. i paid $200 deductible for $2400.00 in new parts :)

a must have!

Met Life.

$184 for 2008 700 Polaris RMK and $144 for 2007 Polaris RMK. Both full coverage.

Liability - $250,000/$500,000/$25,000
Underinsured - $250,000/$500,000/$25,000
Collision/Comp - $500 deductible

Good guy Ryan Fournier 253-473-3010. ryan@fourniersolutions.com. For comparison I am paying about $160 for a $12000 sled. $70 for my $6000 trailer. I am pretty sure you need to have Mutual of Enumclaw home owners to get these rates but they are really competitive and a high quality company. Claims was very easy when I have had to use it.

I agree MM. Not to mention if your sled slams into another person and heaven forbid, hurts them. Happens more often then you might think. I just love it when people say insuring sleds is gay. I can't hold back...They get landbasted by me.

If I know someone isn't insuring their sleds, I don't want to ride with them. Just shows you don't care about other people.

Good for you guys.:face-icon-small-win

I go through USAA.
If you have any sort of Military affiliation you can qualify for membership.
They are awesome to deal with.

An local insurance agent that actually rides sleds too???

I've posted this a few times now and people that have checked into it have been very happy with the results. Craig is a very helpful local agent and a fellow sledder. He does all the work to broker you the best deal possible. In my scenario he saved me $1100 bucks a year over the best deal I could find. I'm currently insured through Met Life and they have been great to deal with. Well worth the call and many folks on here will vouch for him.

Tell him Aaron Jensen sent you.

The last piece of the insurance puzzle is the umbrella policy. They are really cheap for the amount of coverage you get. I have $3,000,000 umbrella and it costs right around $300. This covers you for any liability you incur. It will kick in after your home or auto policies are maxed out or cover you for about anything you could think of. I carry pretty high limits but with the cost of medical care and people looking at every bad situation as a way to cash in I feel a lot better about having the umbrella and it's through Mutual of Enumclaw too. If you have sleds, ATVs, horses, motorcycles, boats, acreage, teenage drivers, you hunt, have parties at your place etc these are all huge opportunities for someone to get hurt by accident and then sue you. Ryan and his crew understand this market and our toys, give him a shot.

I also go through Craig for my insurance needs. Have done so for over 10 years. Good guy.

I am pretty sure you could do a stated value policy for a turbo sled. Basically this is what the sled is worth by your estimate and then insure it for that. I thought about that too as I have a Silber Turbo coming for a Pro but I think the turbo stuff would be salvageable in even a bad crash/tumble down a mountain scenario.
