Sled in Short Box P/U & Pulling Trailer ???

I have a short box p/u and need to haul one sled in the truck while pulling a 2 up tilt sled trailer. Anyone on here do this and how does it work? Tailgate up supporting sled or tailgate down and no sharp turns?
Any suggestions or am I dreaming?:confused:

this was temp. cuz trailer problems.. have put shorter sled(mm700 W/ 144) in bed and pulled two place tilt just fine.. never had a problem(200+ miles).. i did put the tailgate up w/ trailer!

:DNow that's a short box. I've gotta say I've never seen that much sled in that little of box!:D
I think my box is 6'6". The tounge on my trailer 4'. I probably will have to put the tail gate up and rest the sled on top. Thanks for the info and the great pic!:beer;

We did it the first year we went out west. Take your toolbox out of the truck if you have one. Put the tailgate up and away you go.

Did it all last year with a couple of different trailers. Tailgate down with my 159" Rev in it everytime....in a 03 Sierra 6' box. No problem, there wasn't a ton of room left, but the sled sticks straight out and that's the pivot point of the trailer, so it never got in the way no matter how hard I turned.

The only way I could see a problem is if your trailer had a shorter tongue or some massive salt sheild that protruded forward.

not the first time Ive heard that.. had a bearing go out on the 2 place.. my buddy was passing through with bigger trail and I didnt want to leave my brand new sled on the interstate!:eek:

Thanks Guys...alot of helpful feedback and tips. The sled going in the box of the truck is only a 141" so it will stick out a bit but should not interfere with the trailer. I was worried about having the tailgate down while cornering but it sounds like that should be okay.
