sled dies idiling

I was out on the weekend riding three days in a row, sled ran great (2013 pro). Stopped half way thru the day for a brief minute, sled at idle and it bobbled alittle bit then died. I atempted to pull it over. I tried to start only while holding throttle wide open. kicked over once somtimes twice then died. Finally after many tries it started, struggling to clean itself up thou. Like it was flodded. It ran great for another half hr, then i shut it down and the same thing occured. Pulled it over and over everytime it kicked over once, smelling like fuel. Finally it started and i booted down the hill to the truck and loaded it. Shut it down trying it again right away, it started fine. Tried shutting down and starting it a couple times, seemed to run fine. Then it started but was running rough then dyied. Again i could smell the fuel, like it was flooded. I took the Reeds out of it this morning thinking maybe that was the problem. They look ok, no cracks or chips out of them. A couple dont sit flat against the cage, but i was told this is ok. Sled only has 400kms on it.Checked the obvious, vacum limes, electrical connectors ect. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank-you

idle

Check the TPS and if it checks out ok pull the primary clutch off and seal cover then examine the PTO seal for damage.

How cold was it? Are you running non-ethanol fuel? Non-ethanol fuel is prone to drawing moisture and developing ice crystals that clog up your fuel filter.

Try running half a can of sea foam in your gas and see if the problem clears up. Your symptoms sound almost exactly the same as mine except for the smelling gas part.

Otherwise could be the TPS or a faulty wiring harness, there have been a few of those.:face-icon-small-con

Let us know what you find out. It could help someone else.

Throttle Cable Slack!

Check your throttle cable slack. The adjustment is right in front of your handlebars. My 2013 acted up in Tog and would not idle. Adjusted the slack a nd was fine.

had this same type of thing happen to me the other weekend. i notices i had ice built up around my thumb throttle and throttle block which was causing them to not sit flush with one another. i cleaned all the ice off that i could see and it started back up and ran just fine. i plan on doing some testing off the mountain but i havent gotten aroudn to it yet.

Thanks for all the info guys. Im not sure if i have solved the problem or not. I took every electrical plug apart, cleaned with brake clean blew out with air and added die electric grease to them all. There was a couple that had mosture in them but nothing real bad. I checked pto seal, looks good. I run shell 91. I also found a loose hose on rave valve solanoid. Im not sure that would cause the problem. I was out riding thursday and the sled didnt miss a beat. I will keep everyone posted.

Also the reverse stop working all of a sudden?? any thoughts

Thanks guys
