i was throwing around the idea of building a sled deck and wondering if anyone has ever pulled an enclosed trailer with a sled deck or if it is even possible. Just lookig to see if anhone has done it or found a way for it to work.

I couldn't pull my enclosed trailer with my sled deck with mountain sleds on it but I could pull my 2 place aluminum open trailer though

I used to pull my enclosed with the sled deck on all the time, but I extended the tongue on my trailer 4 feet. That way I could jackknife and unload the truck without unhooking the trailer, worked great.

Not to hijack the thread but I bought my first sled deck. I have the superclamps for the front but do people tie down the rear as well? Would rather be safe than sorry so I was planning on doing it. Thoughts?

Yes you can pull an enclosed with it but if you have a beaver tail be very careful on turns or you'll put a hole in your trailer. If your wanting to have two sleds up on the deck I imagine it would work but unloading from the deck you would have to un hook the trailer.

I've ran a deck the last two seasons and absolutely love it and I just use the front super clamps for tie downs never have any problems with the rear.

I did the same as Norsepeak and had Tork Lift in Kent, WA. extend the tongue of my 24' enclosed trailer four feet so I could jack-knife and unload both sides of the sled-deck without disconnecting the trailer. I think I paid about $800 for the work (about 8-10 years ago).

The only negative was that the tongue weight increased noticeably and I had to run a load distributing hitch where I didn't prior to the modification.

I weighed the option of buying a 4' hitch extender (much cheaper) but felt the extra leverage on the receiver hitch would have long term adverse wear impact on my pick-up. Plus the trailer would only jack-knife far enough to unload one side of my sled-deck which would require me to either then jack-knife the other direction (huge pain in the arse) or lift/move the other sled to the open side of the sled-deck for offloading...and also loading.

Would I have my trailer tongue extended again as opposed to the other options?....Yup!
