I am looking to put this in a dodge 2500 short box. I am probably going to go steel for the first one. Easiest to work with for me for now. I want stowaway ramp and would possibly do collapsable sides. My email is amahuff@msn.com Please email if you have any plans that you would share.

I just spent last weekend building one

Took maybe ten hours and all i have left is to weld the ramp, paint, and run the lights. Would have finished last weekend but ran out of gas.

Used a total of 180 feet of 1" x 2" .083 wall tubing and twenty feet of .120 wall tubing (for the ramp) Plus two sheets of 5/8" plywood

Total cost of the steel was $221 , $37 for gas, $11 wire for welder


Final deck size was width 8'2" length 7'6" plus 12" beavertail

I can give you some dimensions from my deck i made. Just finished the wiring tonight... couldn't figure out why the running lights weren't working.... ground from the deck to the truck wasn't connecting. But here's a bad picture, can take a better one in the morning when it's light out. Get's dark here by 5:45 now days.

I saw an old 1/2 ton ford regular cab short box with a all wooden deck on it the other day... looked scary! haha

Whatever you build, build it well! And not out of 2x4s...
