Ski's ? What do you run.

My stock ski's are toast and have no idea where to start.

90% mountain / Powder very little trail riding

I have an 2006 Ski-Doo Summit 800 151".

Any help is greatly appreciated.

there is snow at mid mountain in Whistler !!:)

Loved the MODS on my Rev.

So much so, Lance is building a mount for the Nytro, so I can run them on my Nytro..

They are great for carving/sidehilling and tearing up the pow in general. :)

FWIW, I did run Simmons and Slydogs on the exact same sled...and liked the MODS the best.

Power Pro's

The SLP Powder Pros are by far the best I have used especially for powder. They make your sled ride light and on top and are easy to turn and side hill.
I used to use SLP SLT's but these were too narrow for a heavier sled.

Everyone I ride with in the deep uses Powder Pros. Good luck. Chasman

What about slydog Powder hounds?? I was thinking about running them on my08XP

Any one have an opinion on which skis helps a Rev sidehill in low snow conditions (or even hardpack). I like my sled as "tippy' as possible.

Simmons do pretty good with that. Im 160 soaking wet with my gear on and i can get the rev on its edge pretty easy

i put a set of white sly dogs on my xp, unfortunatly waiting for snow for final verdict. I did talk to a guy who ran them all on his xp and said the USI's turned the xp into a totally different sled and he loved them

See the white on the mountains this morning snorodeo?!

What mounting kit did you guys use for the powder pros? I have an 08 XP and they did not list a mount for it? Do you just use a rev mount?

In my humble opinion...

Mods are the best ski a rev has ever seen. Close second is USI's triple threats. I've had C&A's and Gen 1 Simmons on my Rev chassis sleds - better then stock, but not the best ski I've ridden. I tried slydogs which were not much better then the 6.9 Pilots.
That said - skis are a funny thing. Kinda like a girlfriend - what works for one person doesn't work for another. Ask yourself what you are looking for out of a ski? What did you not like about the ones you were running? Do you like a fast, loose ski, or one that steers heavy? Do you run in low snow conditions where you could tag rocks / stumps? Lots of things to consider...

Thank-you

for 90% mountain/powder the stock ski is fine. Available and affordable too.

If you were 50/50 mountain/trail I vote for Simmons. Simmons work best with the low profile trailer glides.

Aftermarket skiis to $$$$ for me for not much difference.
