Skidoo xr 1200 Summit? Anyone going to build one and put a turbo on it.

Anyone going to be building a mountain sled off of the new xr 1200. I am hopeing they come with a mountain sled for 2010 with that motor. The hp on that motor seems low but I bet it has a lot of torque. There has to more you could get out of it with different cams, remapping, and a free flow exhaust. Add a turbo to it and you would have to be able to 250 hp out it.

ha ha bring it:D:beer;

I imagine there will be a bunch of guys that will do it. I wouldnt personally because:

1. Doos quality control doesnt seem to be all that great lately. Double the HP on something like that and you're most likely asking for trouble.
2. The wieghts that have been published seem pretty darn close to the nitro, and I dont imagine a mountain version would be much different. If the wieght penalty is there with either four stroke, I would go with a yammi any day of the week.

This new engine should be good. Rotax engines have been used in the new Buell 1125r, I think Aprilla bikes too. I haven't looked around to much yet but there has to be some turbo kits for those out already.

I am looking at the total displacement too it is over 100 cc bigger than the Nytro. I am tempted to buy one but want to see what it would do against my buddys mtx nytro. so far he is disapointed with it. He says it is under powered and drops off quick on the top end. I feel bad for telling him to buy it but I test drove one and was impressed with it. Maybe an aftermarket exhaust and remap would wake it up. He can't afford a turbo yet.

Heres a site for the Rotax engines in the Aprilla. http://www.rotax.com/en/Engine/2004/Motorcycle/
