Ski tracking

Can anyone tell me if there is a performance value to running your ski's toed in or out or is 0 the best way? Just wondering.

Thanks

There isn't really a simple answer for this one. Each sled is different based upon the geometry of the front suspension and complemented by the caster and camber settings too. Most sleds do require some bit of toe-in but you should refer to the service manual for your sled to determine the correct amount. No toe-in or negative toe-in (Toe-out) will cause your sled to dart or drift on the trail due to the skis being pulled in opposite directions....What model sled do you have???

nope.....good valid question. Look on eBay for a shop manual. There are tons of them out there (copies of originals) and they usually go for a few bucks. Well worth the money...

i have an XRS 159 and after playing with my toe setting, i found the most stable on a groomed trail for me was a very slight toe out. when toe'd in, it would dart, neutral would also dart but also had heavy steering feel to it, but toe'd out seemed to be the best as well i noticed less shoulder fatigue.....just my experience with it.

Ive always found that a little toe out (1") is the best, toe in makes it really darty and hard to control. just bring a tape measure and wrench with you on the first ride this fall and try different setting till you get one that you like the best.

Always mark you tie rod end and tie rod with a pen-use a sharpie or paint pen-so you know where start point was if you don't like the results, then at least you can go back.
