Ski option?

I agree

Also did not know that they have something wider than the 10" Simmons.

Show the stuff pics come on.

cheers......

I dont think the curve is wider than the gen 2 simmons, it looks to be a normal, probably six inch wide ski. if the frozen moto guy is right, I really want to get one, cause the gen 1 simmons sucks!

Curve XS

Ok so the Curve XS is 7.5 inches in the front, 5.5 inches in the center, and 7 inches in the rear. This creates the venturi and does a ton for handling of the ski while getting you back on a center keel and keeps you between the forks which is vital to dirt bike fork geometry. It really is that simple.
I find it funny that people have said that this ski isn't the way to go due to it being narrow and single keeled. However it is wider than the Simmons and center keeled which Simons has historically said isn't the answer but is now trying produce, I would challenge the nea sayers to show me modern snow technology, that utilizes fins at all in an existing industry..... It isn't out there because it isn't snow at all.... Side cut is snow and a proven technology fins or multiple hanging down kneels are water technology straight from water skis and wakeboards. The pro moto add on a center keel to raise the ski removing the two outside kneels from the equation and the ****y ride of the Simmons which turn your Simmons ski into a curve XS without the side cut and by raising the ski which helps the Simmons on the trail but hinders it in the powder. The "new" ski Simmons is working on with Timbersled is trying to do the exact samething lift the ski in the center why do that when there is proven technology in the patented Curve XS that others are attempting to be emulated in there design while in the same breath saying it doesn't or won't work. Has anyone seen a bad review by someone that has bought and ridden the Curve XS on their snow bike and that isn't involved in snow bike production and trying to build a ski to sell snow bikers?
On a side note the "new" ski will also not qualify for competitions due to safety regulations regarding the number of carbides and distance they can be from the ski.
The ski s also available from Frozen Moto as we are the snow bike dealer for Curve Industries. We are currently giving a pre season 10% discount when you call and order by mentioning the snow west post.

Shanahan, my problem with going out and buying the curve ski is that i haven't found any other reviews for it on a snow bike. And really, ill wait for the ski that timbersled is working on, because its already paid for. Id like to believe you, and i want something better than a gen 1 simmons, but I'll deal with it before i spend the money on something else. My whole concern is mountain performance. I'm not worried about competing, cause that's not what i do, so three carbides is fine with me. i think Allen is on the right track, and he has put a lot of time and money into his r&d for a good ski for snow bikes. Besides, i have a long track mountain horse, its gonna take a more aggressive ski to turn it than your kits. And don't think I'm bashing on your design, i think they're really cool, but I'm in it for the back country, not a track... I could be wrong, but until i see more evidence that the curve is the way to go, i can't justify blindly spending almost three hundred bucks for it.

If the curves ski would be a bit bigger and have steel edges like my snowboard I would buy one without hesitation. That would make it a full on Snow bike ski.

I just really hate going over the bars and the only thing that helps limit that is a big ski. And the frond end washing out on hard pack requires either runners on the edge or steel edges as on a snowboard or.

Lets put it this way if the curves guys step up to it and build a bigger snow bike specific ski they will have a customer right here.:yo:

OK back to the point!!! HOW much $$$$$ is a SNOW BIKE specific SKI from curve?????

The curves ski is a Snowmobile ski although a real good Idea in the right

direction it is not snow-bike specific.

With the limmited numbers I am surprised to even see the Bike speciffic Simmons ski never mind an other one by Curves.

Maybe in time as our sport grows we will see it happen.

Www.curveindustries.com this is their website, and the price for the ski and loop is $209, 20.95 for hardware, and 45.95 and up for carbides depending on which one you want. And these are u.s.prices,i think...

So basically, $275.90 and up, plus shipping, and tax if applicable. Honestly, if you had two guys that wanted them, you'd be money ahead to buy a set for an iq polaris if you have timbersled. Because you'd save fifty bucks by buying a pair over the one. But its hard to tell if they are the same ski or not. But the replacement ski costs the same either way, so it may be the same one...
