ski doo rt 1000 low end bog

580 miles on ski doo 1000 rt 151 and just started getting low end bog. Can go really slow and jerky for awhile and then throttle threw it, but then have to keep mid to full throttle to keep performance. I've heard rumors it could be a chip problem. Any ideas?

Clean your clutchs before you go after engine issues that it may not be. If it is not backshifting right (secondary hanging up) that might be your issue. Start there first in my opinion.
What program is in the sled? No chips--would be a program reburn--personally I like the 07 mid -alt program.

Make sure your computer is updated. Had the same problem and when it was take care of, she ran like a dream. I had battery issues to this season that caused it to run like crap and made it a total exhaustive process to get it started.

Good Luck!

Ski doo 1000 2006 carburetor cleaning

Thanks for the leads yesterday h20ske and Fire Captain. Would still bog today when starting and going slow. When I sprayed carb cleaner in air box I could Start up and keep RPM's up no problem. So I'm sure my carbs are really gummy. Does any one have advice on how to get the carbs to clean them? Theses sleds are not like the old belly pans you could sit in! Thanks, becauae it is pounding snow in Tahoe and a bogging sled in feet of snow makes a frustrating day.

You probably have dirty reeds if carb cleaner helped. Pull off inner airbox, loosen bands around throttle bodies, pull off the airbox guide/rubber. Now it gets fun. Must take off heated carb line on mag side of carbs(throttle bodies), be sure to plug the line somehow, you will lose quite a bit of antifreeze. There is also and elec plug on the mag side body. You will also need to unhook the throttle cable, loosen the 2 nuts and slide the cable casing out of the hole, then unhook the cable end. Loosen the 2 bands on the reed boots/throttle bodies and pull them out. Clean as needed. There are 6 bolts on each reed cage and they are fun to get at. After you get the bolts out the reeds/boots should come out. FYI the reeds will come out of the boots in 2 pieces each side. Clean as needed. A flex-style extension on a 1/4 in. drive ratchet helps alot on the reed bolts. Have fun!!.

All good advice. Could add couple more things:
Battery-must have no less than 12.5 volts with tight terminals- low battery can starve fuel pumps and injectors
Low pressure fuel pumps failing at alarming rates: try adding fuel to the top of the cap, helps bypass the low pressure pump
Check fuses, relays, clean grounds
Check for E-raves, working, adjusted, etc.
Like previously stated, 07 mid-alt map is the ticket for poor runnability:)
