Ski-doo rebate ends 1/31/09-What to expect?

I'm a new rider about to buy a 2009 600 ETAC or 800 summit. Dealers say Ski-doo's cash rebate ends this Saturday. A nearby dealer has 10 of these sitting on the lot, should I expect the rebate to increase when this one "ends"? $7999 for a new 800 sounds pretty good to me (even though there's a billion used out there to choose from.)

Q. #2 I would never pay MSRP for a car. Should I for a sled? Are invoice prices available?

thanks in advance from an older guy who is still wondering if an 800 is only neccessary if I'm in deep & steep powder. 10mpg vs. 20 mpg ?

Unfortunately the way the economy is I'm sure more rebates will follow. Alot of dealers have tons of inventory and not too many people are buying.

I think the deals will get better but $7999 for a new sled sounds like a good deal if it includes a warranty.

based on the few years I spent working in sales in the motorsports industry, the rebates only increase as time goes on... when one rebate program ends its only to be replaced with a larger rebate.... I would be happy with 7999 tho as long as they're not tacking on a bunch of bs pdi, freight n doc fees...
