ski doo formula Z and summit

well i did a similar project and had success with it, no it will not swap straight over the formula z is most likley a 121x15 track while that summit is either a 136x15x1 or 136x15x1.25 so extending would be in order or what i did was get a hold of a sc-10 suspension that was for a 136 track that came off of the s-chassis that was used from 95-99 and made a tunnel extension, and moved the suspension mounts and everything else bolted up

i have the track suspension from the summit, would that be a direct bolt in the forumla z?
i do have the drivers if its different pitch
just dont want to redrill holes in the tunnel

if it works out it should be a pretty sweet sled with a 136

if both are stock the pitch should be same, the only thing is either move the mounts, or get some more and rivet them in where they line up, but that was with the new suspension from the s-chassis, with the stock suspension from the summit not sure if it will bolt up or not, a 136 on those formulas makes it a sweet ride.

depends on the size of the motor of the Z, 583 i would go 1.5 to 1.75 and play with some gearing and clutching, on a 470 Z i would go 1 inch lugs and again clutching and gearing. the Formula i did is a 470 and did the 1 inch block track from the 94 summit and played with clutching and its been good runner as is

I have a formula z with a 136 summit skid and 1 inch or 1 1/4 inch lugs. does great but i blew the chaincase and im going to try the 670 chaincase. Just make sure its geared right with the right tension on the chain and track.

you can go with a one 1 1/4 with stock nine tooth drivers and a 1 13/4 with eight tooth dricers but you will need to gear your slad down to at least a 23 43 qne i would go even more dependeing on your style of riding i would upgrade to a sc 10 suspension the ride is about twice as good as the one under your formula z which the summit in the pic has the same suspension as the z in the pic so the front mounts should mont the same no drilling and the rear should be the same if the center to center on the mounts is the same when you get it all together you need to make sure the track isnt rubbing the heat exchanger becuase the upper ideler axle holds the track to high just drill a couple hiles and lower it
have a great day good luck i always liked thoose sleds dan
