SKi-doo Clutch

Need some help on getting a primary clutch apart on an 08 XP. Once it is off the machine do you need special tools to disasemble the clutch to get to spring, ramps, weights etc. If so what tools do you need (already have button retainers), if no tools needed what is the procedure? Any advice would be appreciated. I know a little about clutch tuning on older Arctic Cats (Comet) but am new to Ski-doo and want to learn. Thank You.

What you do is thread the puller in to the clutch and turn it over , hold on to the gear and hit the puller on the concrete floor and the clutch will seperate. Then you can seperate the top have from the bottom. Use the button retainers to hold them in. To get the spring out you can use a big piece of all thread and some big washers.

Or, just hold the clutch with one hand under the movable half, puller still threaded in and hit the puller a few good whacks and the halves will seperate.
I use nothing but a puller, a piece of allthread and a vise for all my clutch work.
Make sure the 2 halves are aligned per the alignment marks when you put it together.
