Important Ski-Doo announces DELAYS in 2023 Delivery...

Wondering if anyone has any insight on the whole “deposit schedule” thing. I deposited almost day one ( 1.5 to be exact) and I’m still waiting. A buddy on the east coast deposited the very last day you could and got his a week ago.

I realize dealer allocations and proximity to the factory but by my math him and I are the exact same distance from the factory. My dealer has 10x the sled purchasing power. Wondering what the point of rushing the deposit over was just be told “be happy that they’re even shipping”

I realize this is first world problems and I’m not complaining just trying to understand the process. Not many industries on earth you can get away with telling your client “happens when it happens” id loose my job if that’s how I operated.

I was always under the impression first come first serve when snowchecking. I also ordered first day and know the dealer has received sleds and I haven’t gotten a phone call either it’s frustrating especially now with snow on the ground. BRP said they started shipping 2023 sleds in July… Yet we didn’t see a Summit till October? I would think the mountain segment would see the first snow fall. I know the money maker is trail sleds for the people on east side of the country but come on BRP!

I factored in the trail sleds comment topic too when thinking about this. But this dealer in the east USA got a few summits all long tracks. I’m factoringin the cross boarder time and complications also. I’m not even upset I don’t have it yet. Really who cares. My comment here is why do they get such a pass while no other industry it would be accepted?

Sometimes its nice to get your sled a couple of weeks later. If there is a bug of some sort , they can get it figured out. This can save you a trip back to the dealer( like check engine lights coming on). Remember also, the dealer has a big say in when he calls you. Definitely frustrating. What color & model are you waiting for?

correct. I assume the dealer gives them out to friends and family long before annoying people like me who ask them 2x a month what’s going on.

Dealers cannot doo that anymore. You get a vin assigned to your order, so that sled is your's.

Seems you and I are waiting on the same sled. Big gauge???

My brother and I ordered the same day, got the same sled except for the Color and his is sitting in a crate at the dealership for almost a week.

My buddy ordered the exact same sled as I did and his is on route. Last Tuesday when I checked with my dealer, there is no vin allotted to me yet.

All of the orders went to BRP the same day I was told.

They seem to build sleds in batches. Every year I've snowchecked my dealer asks if I want an October, November, or December delivery. Skidoo does not give a Vin to customers until the sled is on the truck headed for the dealership. End of the day from my experience the dealer has a lot of say of who gets what sled and when, you never seen any of the sponsored guys from our western dealerships waiting on sleds.

Yeah and I find that to be total BS. When I ordered a new truck from GM I could see where on the line it was.

I can’t imagine BRP is unable to tell us what’s going on. Seems to me it’s fairly lawless.

Twins.

Yeah my east coast friend and I ordered all identical specs. Only a month apart in terms of deposits

I just would love a tiny bit of clarity on the process. Not complaining about how long it takes.

I’m not saying its right but I don’t ever remember seeing or being told that snowcheck orders are filled on a first come first serve basis. I’ve never had one show up late enough that I’ve missed any riding so it has never mattered to me… I also haven’t snowchecked since 2019.

I told myself when I ordered 2023 that the thing is probably gonna be mega late, thats the world we currently live in. Thank a democrat.

I am waiting on my sleds....so is cody, alford etc....sleds are built in a way that is the most efficient for time, cost and many other factors, it is a fine art, unless you build them, it of course might not make sense.

IF sponsored guys were to get their sled first i wouldn't be surprised at all. i figure in just about any industry the "team" riders get the new gear asap.

That is a bummer for you and others.

Doo says 20% of their sleds will not be delivered by Jan. 1. Hopefully it does not get worse.

Is this not purely from overselling? People that have spring checked pre covid era ,was it typically on time and fairly predictable? How much of this is just because it’s current conditions (labour, shipping, covid) problems?

I was directly told from the sales dude “the sooner the deposit goes down the better. holds your place in line”

I’m currently riding my wifes sled around (600r 154) and don’t mean to be bitching about something we are so lucky to be able to even do but if it’s that hard to produce and ship sleds on time based on how many they’re allowing to be sold, then why not just cap it at what they’re able to produce? They know the limitations and current climate so why not “over deliver and under promise”
