Ski-doo and Felkers do the right thing

So my riding season got off to a rough start this year- even without the lack of snow coming into play.Got out a couple of weeks ago in the snowies and lost a motor (08 XP 800) took it to Felkers to get a diagnosis. I thought possible top end maybe but it seems a little off for that and the sled only had 2600 miles and never been hot or bad fuel.

Brad calls and tells me the crank spun - not a bearing but one of the press fittings in the crank is twisted but not broken. Basically when one cylinder is all the way up the other cylinder is only about an inch below it in stroke....... odd. Top end was fine other than having some obvious timing issues, brad said he had never heard of such a thing. Motor still spun freely and ran - just no power and out of balance

Obviously not good news but if left to me it would be the year 3000 before it is fixed. Brad drops and reman motor in for me and done the next day. That is what they make credit cards for right!?!?!?!

I am on my way to pick it up and Brad calls again with some astounding news.
Despite the fact that the sled is about a year out of warranty felkers and ski doo worked it out that Ski-doo would cover 1/2 the cost of the reman motor!!!!!

Obviously awesome and had to say a big thanks to both of them.....I have had stuff under warranty that has not been dealt with like that.

Lynn and his people are great, I don't ride skidoos anymore but he does excellant work and makes them run great. Glad to hear they took good care of you but it's still bummer about the motor in the 1st place

VERY cool!!!

So nice to hear this kind of thing every now & then... I hope you tell everyone you know, as they deserve the praise!!

Great to hear!

A few years back, -25 at Grand Lake one morning, grabbed a handful of throttle and lost a connecting rod on a new 800. Brought the sled in on a Monday, they had a new motor in it by Friday including porting, etc... Was back on the snow that Saturday.

10yrs later, still get the same great service w/ Lynn, Calvin, Brook, Brad & crew...

MD.

Never heard a bad things bout Felkers, good peeps!! Gave me 2 models of a clutch spring to figure out which one I needed and only charged me for one, trusting I would bring the other back, you just don't get that kind of small town, good ol boy trusting treatment anymore...
