ski doo ahead of the game

So with all the buzz out there of AC and Polaris releasing new sleds for next winter and BRP figuring out all their quirks who do you think is gonna come out on top?

I think it will get even closer. Cat and Polaris have the best running sleds out of the box, setup is almost always spot on. Should be interesting.
cheers numbnuts racing:beer;

With a year of on the snow testing by loyal Doo customers the new, improved XP's are going to be tough to beat..

Ski-Doo.. they are even going after the Yamaha 4 stroke business with an Evinrude designed motor

Not likely--Sled division and watercraft division and outboard division do not talk to each other.

Yes--Doo has figured out all their quirks--But will they do anything about them??

you better hope doo is improved. 2 years in a row of *****ing the beds and not getting it right. you doo boys don't get your panties in a knot here, cuz with that being said with some aftermarket mods and lots and lots of patience they are running well. but the title of this thread is from what I take it stock out of the box comparisons. to me it seems cat was kind of quiet the last year or 2, so possibly something big from them, polaris is more than on the right track with the raw chassis 800, even if they didnt' come out with a big bore, and stuck with the raw chassis and lightened it up a bit, I think outta the box without cat coming out with something, polaris could be pushing doo to the edge if not showing them a little something something. Yamaha has a great reliable sled in the nytro, hoping they come out with an update or replacement of the apex. hopefully it will have lost some weight and be competitive in stock form Next step is to go burn down brad story's, shain stainger and brent linderman's shops so they will stop working on these turbo m1000's that are working incredibly well. buddy just got one(has an apex as well) and he smiles from ear to ear with the tm1000. Can't wait to try it out.

yeah actually if you go to skidoos website and read what they talk about on the new 4tec 2006 the first 4tec motor came out in the seadoo water craft is largely based on the watercraft motors

The way I really figure things is that BRP is doing testing on the chassis to support a 4 stroke engine. Kinda the opposite of what Yammi has done. They came out with the motor first now their developing a progressive lighter chassis. Doo is progressing their chassis, then they'll through in some kinda 4 stroke and still have a sub 500 pound mtn sled. They'll probably offer a turdo edition as well.

Yami is doing it right. Develop a bomb proof powerplant first. That is one thing that is hard to doo later...All the 07 and 08 issues of doo seem to prove that theory. Not bashing just observing. I sincerely hope that doo gets their act together. It is bad for the industry. My .02

Unless doo can fix the problems they have known about for 2 years (clutching and engine problems), I don't think it will really matter how good their chassis is.
Currently I won't own one just because I don't trust it to get me back out of where I put it.

Polaris is going to be conservative with their line up. They have a pretty rock solid line up. Looks like they are expanding their 800 line up.

I think cat is going to be doing some change up this year to a better chassis and stronger motors.

Yamaha is the leader as far as dependability goes, now if they could get the weight down.

All that being said, unless Doo can get it's act together with the clutching and engine probs, I think you will see Poo, Cat and Yamaha really eat into their market share. There are a LOT of unhappy Doo owners out there.

I guess you get more done on the r and d side if you just let your customers use there time and money and charge a whorehouse price.:eek: i just hope brp gets the 800 motor problems fixed.

If they can keep the XP's together, I guess they got the belts figured out, but driveshafts, and some mention of motor problems, it will be a very competetive chassis for another couple of years, I think!
