SHR 860R -installed and tested

October I sent my top end into Big John for his 860 kit. I ordered the cheater heads instead of the billet head( easier to resell as stock if need to), the service was great and fast. We had no snow and went to the mountains last weekend. There was about 5' with 1'-18" of powder for a top. I jetted exactly as Big John recommended. I warmed it up to temprature and then ran it hard. Not one issue arose! The EGT's were 1050-1199F throught the mid range and up to full throttle.( The probes were set 4" from the pistons). The extra power very noticable, but I have not had a chance to dyno it yet...

From the seat of the pants it still seems to perform better at 8200-8300 then 7900rpm. Could still be the tra giving me a little grief.

Anyways thanks BJ, great work!

PS. Too bad DT's turboed M8 didn't work good...or even acceptable. lol

good to hear all is working well, i was told that 7900 was the sweet spot...

had the 885cc out today and she was fun as well, all worked great but was running almost 8300rpm with extra weight allready added and clickers on 1... i guess it is time to go to solid pins and see if she will pull that

Didn't Baker tell me you had a little sqeek issue last trip out? Do you have the tapered pistons?...Are you just running premium, or adding some av with it? Sorry for all the questions but my 885 will be on the snow soon, rode it stock (180 kms for 2 days) last weekend in Revy & it seems to pull good, kinda like the chassis. Didn't Ralph say 8100-8200 RPM?
