Should Polaris Warranty Broken Bumper Tabs?

Many Axys sleds are breaking the tab where the bumper connects to the frame. My bumper is perfectly straight yet the tab is broken. This occasionally happened on the sleds 2015 and prior, but very often on the Axys. Has anyone had Polaris cover this through warranty? Do you think they should?

Yes they should. But they probably won't. My buddy welded his tabs back on.

The sad thing is there isnt (as far as i know) a fix for it. Like a bumper that uses other mounting points

some have gotten them covered under warranty, others got declined. I think its a tough call for polaris. Its pretty easy to smack a tree, install a new bumper and then take it in for warranty. Eric

Somebody should start selling an aftermarket bracket that doubles as a reinforcement for unbroken tabs or alternative mount for broken tabs.

I think I would put one on if available. We usually strap the front down with the bumpers when hauling. I think about the bumper tab every time I do it.....fingers crossed!!

Ya. Doesnt help if it broken tho does it?

Nope and even with skinz bracket I would imagine you hit something solid its still going to break the tabs. And I don't mean hitting something fast enough to total the sled. Polaris needs to stop using very cheap(albeit very lite) cast metal as attachment points for bumpers, or at least make the attachment points replaceable.

I did not hit anything just installed a zbros bumper in the garage and 10 minutes later I hear snap then snap again I think what the he'll was that so I start looking and found both my tabs had broken off in the garage wow it's lite but cheep and no warranty coverage they told me to pack sand and FO.

I have had mine break off also, both on my axys and on the pro. You don't need to hit anything with the bumper to break them just blasting through the snow hitting the nose will snap them off. It is more of a side pressure that breaks them.
This is my fix that I fabbed up and has lasted on both models.

Thats kinda my thought. It would be nice if it was built better. But this isnt a new problem and you/I still bought it.

So, we shouldn't keep bringing it to everybody's attention, so they will finally fix a ****ty design? Mine broke with no visible damage to the bumper with a slight sideways hit.
