Should I pull the trigger on a new 2012 F250???

Would you feel better if ford or GM marked their truck up $12,000 and then gave you $8k-$10k in incentives?

The problem with getting these incentives all the time is the value of the truck is pulled down. If dodge is selling a $60k truck with $10k in incentives that trucks value is instantly less than $50k

Yeah but it's all relative when you go to sell it. Ford and Chev's are just making more money on their trucks. Good on them I guess?

well i didnt go from a chev to a ford but i did go from a 6.0 to a 6.4 to a 6.7 and ford finally got a motor right i have 74,000 on my 12 and no problem runs great runs better stock then my 6.4 chiped,we have 10 6.7 in our fleet and have not had any motor issues.I dont think you would be disapionted.

Couldn't of said it better, we run 5 6.7s and they all have been great trucks...a few sensor issues in the first batch of the 2011s. Massive improvements over the past diesels ford ran. Try one out I'm sure you'll love it unless you get a lemon! But that's with any brand.

Well its a done deal, ended up getting a F350 Lariat. Didnt really want the one ton but sure I will be glad in the long run. Thanks for all your input guys, nice to hear lots of positive things about the 6.7. :face-icon-small-hap

Obama motors... GM took money from the US government which it paid back the loan, and the government is now selling back their shares as well.

Ford took money from private investors. Private investors = Chinese governments money invested in the private market.

Ford is so much better?

You have no clue what you are talking about.

There hasn't been a full repayment and the stock is still worth less then when the Fed's bought it

I've always owned Ford trucks. I decided to try something different and I bought a 13 GMC Denali diesel. The Fords are super cool and I love the Ford turnaround story and I'm a big Alan Mulally fan. However, with all you GM haters I say get over it. Forgive them. Stuff happens in business. They goofed up and made huge mistakes. So you're going to have a resentment towards them for the rest of your life? Makes no sense to me. Have you ever personally made mistakes? Even possibly big ones? Buy the truck you like. Leave the past where its supposed to be. In the past. GM and Chrysler are part of American culture. I don't love how they made it through but I'm grateful their both still here.

No I'm pissed at GM because my stock 08 LMM blew both the transmission and turbo before 100k miles and GM is still fighting paying for the warranty

check the HP/torque on all the new diesels and compare them to a 6.4 with H&S tuner/EGR delete/exhaust. 6.4 is the real HP/torque King. Runs great with that setup and cheaper to buy then new truck. I have a 6.7 Ford H&S tuner, deleted, exhaust and does run great but the HP/torque figures for the 6.4 are better than the 6.7 Ford and new dmax and cummins.

I would probably keep that 2009 dmax, not enough 'extra' in a new truck for the price IMO. Keep the $ and buy a new XM!

Sold my 06 Laramie 3500 with 140,000km for 25,000 CAD. This was pretty much on par to what a similer GMC was worth with similar options.

I work a job where we only buy 3/4 and 1ton diesels. They all have their issues, but we run them really really hard in really rough conditions.

Ford has ALWAYS caused us the most problems. The 6.7 has been no different. I am not brand loyal (sleds, truck, etc.) i am loyal to sh*t that works. Fords have lost me $$$$ and time due to being in the shop.

Not sure why a company that proves to continually put out a poor product still has loyal customers. If you have not had problems, that is awesome. My experience has not been positive toward Ford diesel. BTW i have had a Ford 150 and loved it- waaaaaayyyyyy better half ton than the other 2.

I use all the big 3 on a very regular basis amd only base my opinion on what I have experienced. Good luck with you new 1 ton. I hope the problems I have experienced are isolated and you have absolutely zero.

They are all fun and have awesome power. Gotta love grunt

good luck with your purchase man! im a chevy guy. i have a pretty modded out 04 chevy, and my boss has a 12 6.7 and its awesome. test drove a 10 dodge and you couldnt give me one of those. it was flat pathetic stock. if i had to choose between all 3 even being a chevy guy id probably go with a one ton single axle 6.7.

I love my LML Denali. That's the problem with asking about which is the best truck (even though that's not really what you asked). People are as brand loyal with their trucks as they are with their sleds.

Bottom line...go drive each of the three and see what you like.

Had 6 duramaxs and tried a mega cab cummins out. Decent motor but I'm selling to go back to a Duramax or possibly try a ford out. Duramax and ford will out perform my cummins hands down in every way. Not a knock on cummins, I just prefer the 8 cylinder.

We run the F series at work. From the 150 gasser to the 550 diesel, and in all honesty, the only one I would even consider buying is the 150. But even after a day or a week behind the wheel of any of our fords....its always a pleasure to get into my d-max. Power and performance aside, the chevy is just a more comfortable truck to be in.

I had dodge diesels back in the loud and proud days then I bought an '03 ford F 250 with one of the first 6.0 ltrs because it was quiet and had performance, but what a heapster! After 60k miles of frustration trying to keep it running and I was mummbling lemon law they treated me right trading on a 06 with a 6.0 and it was okay, but then came the6.4's and I wasn't going down the first of a new engine road again so I went back to dodge in 07 to get one of the last 5.9's.Awesome pickup with awesome milage but they don't last forever so just traded a month ago for a new ram with the 6.7.The pickup is fine but the milage sucks! Can somebody tell me how we are saving the environment by trying to make every vehicle an air purifier and we are burning twice the fuel to do it?Doesn't make any sense to me.

Preaching to the choir. Lol. Gotta love the government.
