You bought a new diesel for your business last year, or a new truck for personal use being depreciated out under the business name.
You needed one last year (or just "wanted" one) and now have no use for it.
In the mean time, it sits parked, 7500 mi in 1-2 years isn't squat.
You like it, but don't like driving it "around"......still trying to wrap my head around that. You live in MT not downtown LA or some other cumbersome place to park a huge truck.
Your appeal for a half ton is.....what again? Comfort,new truck smell, lower payment?
But you, while somewhat concerned with the financials of it, want to find the most expensive half ton you can for "tax purposes?" It's not sales tax since you don't have any. Depreciation is still in the upper half for tax returns.
Maybe need to explain your motivators more clearly, or just go trade er in on your favorite F150.
