Should I buy a new Triton.

I've been looking for a used Triton 24' enclosed trailer. Have not had any luck. Went to Clem's Powersports today to pick up my new Pro and got to talking trailers with Clem. It looks like my dream trailer all kitted out just the way I want it would be about $20,000. I have a mirage the same size now. To upgrade it will cost me about 15 if I sell the mirage for 5 or so. I was really trying to keep my trailer cost at about 12-13 so my net would be about $8000. I have the money saved to pay cash. I have never spent money like that on any kind of trailer but it's exactly what I want and I will probably own it for quite a while as I don't see any reason to upgrade. What would you guys do? I'm planning several trips to Canada, Wyoming and Idaho this winter so it will get used. The biggest difference is weight and all the storage options/conveniences that Triton offers.

I didn't wind up going the Triton route on the trailer I just ordered, but I did sort of go into it with the mentality of "This is the last trailer I'm ever going to have to buy" to justify what I spent on it. I don't forsee myself ever needing another trailer after this one, at least not for at least the next 10 years most likely.

*shrug*

It's all just a matter of how into sledding you are and how comfy you want your sleds to be in their home I spose ;)

I've got a 25' lowboy model if you are interested in that. In like new condition only used a few times. White in color. Pm if intereseted. I got to pull it out of the shop to get shop insulated so I could snap some pics.

yea, i've learned to not try and justify the cost of anything but simply chalk it up to the price for fun.

if you've got the money, get what you want rather than sacrifice. you'll feel better about it down the road rather than wonder what it would be like if you would have picked up the one you really wanted instead.

I have a 22' triton love it and yes they are not cheap have over $22,000 in mine . We figure it will last till family gets smaller.

I bought a 2002 enclosed for $3k last year. Nice trailer, a little heavy but I drive a diesel anyway. Maybe you can stretch your money further than me, but I'd rather have another Pro in my fleet so I can have one turboed and the other stock. I guess my point is that those trailers are nice, but I just need to change in mine and pretty much bought it so the wife could be warm. Sounds like a nice trailer for a hella lotta money. What about finding a nice setup used?

Bugito what you posted is pretty much how I feel. I have raced cars for quite a while and always put my money in the car, not the trailer. One team I drove with had over $300,000 in their trailer. Man it was nice, seemed like mad overkill to me. I wont give up having an enclosed trailer, just makes things too easy. But I would really like to have a lightweight aluminum model. I think I'm going to hold out until I find a good deal on a used one.
