Should have rode with Ron today

Well, I was making some good plans to slow Ron down today by having him take a noob like me on his dirt bike ride. Well as murphy's law always shows up, I get a call to send out 3 machines for two hours in the evening. I wanted so badly to say I was booked so that I could ride, but an extra $300 would go a lot further in providing for the ol family.

Boy was I wrong!

That's two wrecked machines. One is totaled and the other has $3k worth of damage. And amazingly the two riders only have a few scratches!

What a mess!

I sure hope you get compensated for the loss of the machines and lost revenues since you are now down 2 rentals also.

Sidenote: Ron and Marc don't ride slow. And as the noob who rode with them lastnight, lets just say that we covered some ground.

It seems like it would be hard to mess 2 of them up that bad but I guess that anything is possible. my bro had his 500 polaris come off the trailer doing 35 around a corner and it came out better then the totaled one.

Adam that sucks. But after watching all of the helmet cam ride with Ron I think your new bike is smiling. You may have got a couple dents and scratches on that new thing. I'm sure a vid will be thrown together soon with some entertaining segments.

And Matt.... Your not the only one that laid their bike down for a rest. I saw 3out of 4 of the riders taking breaks in the bushes more than once . LOL!!!! Butterfly watching I guess.

Ok, so here is the story. Three guys and a girl in their twenties from Chicago. All seemed to be quite respectable and good guys. The rented three machines total. They were on their way down off the mountain and going down the main dirt road in Snake Creek. They were obviously going waaaaay too fast. They said they were ran off the road by a truck, but that may just mean a truck was coming up the road that they didn't expect and they reacted, or over-reacted. The first guy (green machine) didn't make the corner and off the edge of the road. This is right above one of the few switchbacks and the machine tumbled down and landed on the road below. The first guy got up and tried to wave off the second guy without success and the second guy went off. It appears he went off much slower since the red bike was in much better shape. The first guy then tried to wave off the third which had the girl driving (thank goodness) and she was being very cautious and stopped without incident. I don't think they meant to do it because they didn't purchase the damage agreement and now have a $9k bill between the two. I have not received full payment yet, but it appears they are going to be responsible and take care of it....as soon as they can come up with a loan for it.

Both machines are scheduled to go out tomorrow. There is no way the green one will and I am going to have to substitute my Ranger for that one. The red one on the other hand will go out tomorrow. I was able to get a few needed parts from Fast track, (thanks Michah) (Handle bar, and front panel) and able to steal a few others off the green bike and put it together. All the other parts are on order, but I think this will work in the mean time. What do you think?
