It's comparing two different variables...traction and flotation.
Given that both are clutched properly for that track....
Hard to say how they'd do side by side.
I'll guess the 154 will have better track speed and better traction.
I've SEEN a stock chassis 156 x 3 out climb a piped 163 x 2.4. Identical sled. Different track. Properly clutched. It had better track speed. Conditions that day were "powder" and "older set up" powder. The two riders were within 10 pounds of each other.
