Shop time to rebuild 800 R motor?

Around 10-14 hrs... the tech would get much less if it was warranty work, a good shop will price you a crank R&R and add some overlap for the jugs and pistons. Just remember techs tend to lose there a** on warranty work for the most part, so they look to make some of it up with cash tickets....

I would like to know as well!

1.5 hrs. is what the shop I used charged. Now I just have to find the time to get it back in the sled and tend to everything else before the snow flys.

If I had to do it over again I most likely would have just paid the shop to do it all. Only because I'm very busy at work and have limited extra tikme right now. On the other hand I am glad I did do it the way I did because now I have a better understanding of how my sled works and how to address other items if they come up.

You bring the motor in, out of the sled, just the long block? You want it disassembled, cleaned, regreased and reassembled with new pistons.

Nothing else?

2 hours. If the motor is super dirty (I've seen some nasty ones) then add 1/2-1 hour.
