SHOOT-OUT RESULTS (2012 sleds) AM-SNOW NEW YORK

I can say that this doesnt mean squat to 95% of the readers on here.

I can honestly say that 100% of the info you post on here is useless, but you won't find me posting negative comments on your threads.

If the info doesn't concern you, don't read it, simple as that.

There's several threads on here with H.P. comments/comparisons of the "underpowered 800.

The point of my thread is the real world results of the Polaris 800 being tied for quickest out-of-the-box E.T. and a real close 2nd after dialed in.

Ditto for the 600

Personally, I don't care about the M.P.H. on top end, but I do care about the acceleration (E.T.)

These are the Dyno numbers posted on HCS

600 etec - 113hp
600 cfi - 121hp
F8 - 155hp
800 etec - 152 hp
cfi 800 - 146 hp
apex - 151hp

Yes an both Doo and Poo with Breakinmode.
And poo with 10% eth fuel plug.

You can add atleast 5 hp with PremiumFuelPlug (observed)

You are right Kraven. There are a lot of posts here if 99.9% of the people don't care about it.

Fred - The Doo was slower in the course. And if the Po only has 140Hp like you say it does, that is pretty embarrasing that the Doo isn't dominating it wouldn't you say?

Thanks for posting the info. As usual ( just like the weight threads) the devil is in the details. I can't believe they would do this in breakin mode and without non eth gas. The Poo is handicapped with eth, maybe as much as 10%. the Doo has a very conservative break in map and will detune itself with bad gas. As much effort as they went to the results are just a guideline until someone does it right. IMO, ALL the 800s make great power, not enough difference on the snow to sway my buying descision.

well here is a flat lander/mountain riders opinion thanks for the post. well out of the box polaris has it together but if you let 10 different shops have their way with the sleds you would have many differnt times and speed. its just like the mountains every body has their own clutching set up that they like . i am a die hard polaris guy but my friend that loves his cats would make these results a hole lot different. but im glad they do this for at least a base line and its good for after market companies to they know that cat and yamaha needs some clutching work to do if racing is your thing. it would be nice to see 60',660'and 1/4 mile times and speed. to see if the guy that wants to burn up the twisty trails or the lake racer of wich sled would better suit him. so thanks for the post.

I don't belive those hp #'s for a second, 'cuz fredw already told us Doo has a 20 hp advantage on the Poo and I know he wouldn't mislead us or , God forbid, lie to us.

Sent from my iPhone when I should be sledding.

Those are the numbers, interesting to see how the Doo and Cat have lost some of thier claimed horsepower.............

They may have not lost any at all. All a dyno run tells us is the differance in the motors and that's only if they were all done, same day, same intake temps, same motor temps, same humidity, same air density...you get the idea. If you open a door in the shop while doing a dyno run the numbers will change. This is exactly why some manufactures dont post hp#'s anymore.

I enjoy seeing the numbers, but there's no reason to be debating them. Who really is in a hp war AND riding a stock sled anyways? Haha my pro has crazy more power than my buddies etech...

My sincere apologies...

Heard from a guy that was there who knows his stuff and all he said was that dealer setup on these sleds was less than stellar.
