Shock pressures in timbersled

how are these skids on the trail on the way to riding? heard on TY (yeah i know), that these skids are only good for climbing. thinking about a future upgrade looking for feedback from the owners. thanks for the help. ski

I have no complaints about this skid on the trails leading to the good stuff. Handles really nice all around IMO. And yes it is really good for climbing.

i would say it has a little to much rebound but overall is very smooth not quite a m-10 but for the price far better than any stock skid i can just fly down the trail now dont even slow down for the big bumps

OK first ride today with mine. 150lbs in the back and 90 in the front. I can bottom it pretty easy in the rear rear....what are you guys finding?? Cant really go up on the pressure anymore. I'd still like stiffer for the big moguls...maybe I'll have to revalve the shock?? Maybe my gometry isnt quite right. I got ice age rails with the holes already there so I just bolted her together....

Vector...does yours bottom frequently??

thats strange i havnt bottomed mine yet & iam a big guy 200lbs befor my riding gear & i pounded it through some big stuff.you did pump your shocks up with the skid off the floor,my skid is exactly the same as yours but i dont have a rear mount turbo that will make a diff.

Did you install the right shocks in the front and rear of the skid as it says in the instructions?

I just got mine put together and have not rode it yet so I hope that it does not bottom out.

These skids have no sag. They ride high in the back and make it hard to take on an offcamber on my Apex. I am going to lower ride height with the spacers. I have been running 70 front and 95 in back. It handles better offtrail but bottoms on trail. 90% of my riding is offtrail so the lower pressures do not bother me. It does keep the front down if you want it to and is very predictable handling now with the lower pressures. Still not sure but it is getting better, I just need to keep experementing. IMO

WOW Hard to believe you bottom out. I am 220 and with 145 in the rear I almost find it too hard. In fact I will go down to 135 for the next ride...I do have the nex-tech air res. I have only bottomed out on when running 120 ks on a trail and hitting a 3' whoop....maybe you have the 2 shock in the wrong spot??????????????????.................02:eek:

Well I checked the dimensions and they all seem right. I did check the shocks when I put it together but I guess it wouldnt hurt to recheck that. Got a call into allen to see what he says. Its definatly to soft though right now....something must not be right. THe transfer is perfect on the hills....I'll get it figured out.

I've been running 100 in front and 130 in rear. The higher pressure in front takes some pressure off the skis and makes it easier to steer on hard pack. I am about 200 lbs without my gear and have not had it bottom out.:D

TDoo........did you pressure them up unweighted?
I run 90 and 150 with a thick (1/2") shim on the bottom and the 1/4 on the top for ride height.

Climbmax
I just put the 1/2 inch on the bottom to try to keep the front end down more.
I don't understand how the 1/4 on top works?? can you tell me? thanks

I got the shims set up just like that. Un weighted like hang the bumper from a stand?? I didnt do that....how you supposed to add air on the trail then??
