Shock Adjustment

Hey guys. Have a 19 850 163 with WE mono tubes. I’m coming off an alpha with the fox shocks and I can’t get my shocks to not feel super stiff. Adjusting the spring tension doesn’t seem to do anything. Can I adjust the track shocks to help lift the weight from the front of my sled? I don’t know much about shock adjustment. Every other 850 I’ve been on the shocks seem so much softer then mine. I weigh about 200 ready to ride. Thanks for any help!

Are you looking for the front lengths? There are about 4 more threads there.

I would measure front and rear. You do NOT have to do both at same time. Just have the skis off ground when measuring front and track off ground when doing rear.

Polaris usually has the factory recommended lengths in the owners manual.

Take the weight off of your springs, by lifting the sled or tipping it on its side, and measure overall spring length. Set the ski springs to 10.25", rear track spring to 10.5" and front track spring to 8" and test. Tighten front track spring for a lighter front end, loosen to keep it down.

Here is what I recommend as start lengths with my revalve. It can also be used with stock valved mono shocks. These settings aren’t for big air jumpers but for boondocking tree riders.F6E64EC5-01B3-4862-858D-7DA97344A43E.jpeg

X2 on everything above. Looked like those springs were set up pretty tight. Measurements for a starting point above.

I have a 19' as well. Follow everything mentioned above. Looks like a bunch pr preload for only weighing 200 lbs. Cranking the RTS as it is will add weight to the skis as well.
