Shift assist

cheap add-on to making sure the DD sec can shift thru ranges as smooth as possible... worth it on any cat.
 
I have noticed that if I use the brake to come to a full stop and then release, wait a bit (30 secs+) that when I try to go, it engages at a much higher RPM and has a clunk to it. The dealer said this is common when going from reverse to forward, but it is doing it without reverse. It is quite loud and quite a jolt. Is this bad? Will the Shift Assist help this?

Check your belt deflection..........and then adjust it by adding shims to the back side of your secondary adjustment bolt. The shims are provided in your tool kit and the manual shows how to do this. I noticed this same thing until my deflection was properly adjusted. The deflection changes from when the belt is new to when it is broke in as well........something to check from time to time. Just an idea.

That makes sense. I only got one shim in my toolkit and then there is one on the clutch. Should there have been more than the two?

Dealer also said I should Simple Green/409 and rinse my clutches after every weekend of riding. Use a small cleaning brush too. He said the belt lets out stuff like sandpaper does and the clutches need to be cleaned regularly or they will wear prematurely. (spider etc...) I have been through several primarys on my Gen2 because of the spider, so I will try to be good at cleaning this if it will make the clutches last longer.
