Sheet rocking questions

Im in the process of finishing my basement and was just wondering if it is a big deal if i only use 4x8 sheets vs 4x12? Im not doing the taping and textoning but am putting the sheet rock up myself. I was thinking of doing the 4x8 because i will be doing it myself without help so it would be easier to lift on to the lift. Plus i can haul them in my truck. I don't want to pay the delivery cost because i don't have room to have it all delivered at the same time too, if i had the room i would just have them deliver them. But i don't have acces to a flat bed trailer to haul the bigger sheets. Thanks any help and tips would be great.

Buy some 2x4x12' boards and put the rock on that to haul. I hung 96 sheets of 54"x12' myself with a lift. Just don't try to carry them flat over your head and they won't break. The mudders will thank you!

In my experience the less joint you have the better.
More joints= more tape and finish work=more$$
Depending on what texture your gonna use(smooth, orange peel, or heavy)
you run the risk of seeing every butt joint. IMO using the 12' sheets is less work in the long run!

If you are doing walls, the mudders will prefer 12' sheets. If you can handle them, go with the 12' sheets.

If you are having to lift them up high...you might consider 8' sheets.

If you are doing the lid, alone, by yourself without a lift...call a sheetrocker. LMAO.
