shaved cylinder head

hey guys! got my new 2012 pro! nice sled. i changed from cat this year and looking for some info. i have seen lots of other threads on this topic but with purchasing a new head. im just wondering if anyone has shaved their head and if so how much? i can shave my head alot cheaper than the price of a power addiction head.

If you raised octane you would most likely be ok..but the chamber design on the stock head is way more likely to hit det..brads combustion chamber design is a major reason he can raise comp and performance with out raising octane requirements,,get brads head....

AKSNOW is correct. Stock head chamber is huge, I don't think shaving would work. Go with Brad's head. KSL.com had some used ones.

Same head.

One other thing to consider.

With a cyl head mod/swap, you will be voiding your warranty on the engine.

If you roll into the dealer with your sled for a different warranty claim and they notice mods on the sled (pipes, cans, heads, control boxes, intake mods etc) they are required by Polaris to make a note of this on your "unit inquiry" record attached to your VIN number in their data base.

Swapping back to stock if you have a problem is fraud and is something that all the sled companies are looking at carefully for warranty claims.
