Hey all,
New to this site and to deep powder riding so I thought I would shout out and ask for some input. I have 2 sleds the first is my new 08 800 Renegade XP and my 06 Yamaha Attak. I was lucky enought to put 500 miles on the XP right after Christmas and now it seems I maybe getting even luckier. I have to head west to Coeur d'Alene Idaho for a few weeks at the end of the month and I am look to hit some powder riding. I realize my 136 probably won't hit the highs the M-class sleds do, but since I am new to this type of riding that's probably a good thing since my friend and I seem to be the throttle happy ones in our group back here and I have no experience with western riding, we do have some deep off trail places here, but nothing as steep as the west.
What I am looking for is insight on how to set these machines up to get the best possible preformance. Where should the limit starp be, should I disconnect the sway bar, remove the front idler wheels and things like that. Do i need to do any jetting on the XP, I was told by 2 shops that the DPM would handle it, but i would like some other opinions, Does the Attak need remapped? Both sleds have 1.25 tracks under them, both are stock until the warranty runs out. The Attak already has a lefty throttle which I have limited time with as I just put it on this summer and only got 200 miles on the sled this year. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!!
Also where is the best place for us to get started? I don't mind traveling 4-6 hours from the Coeur d'Alene area on the weekends.
Thanks all!
