I know! That big 500 two stroke power is amazing. It is a whole new level of performance. I liked not having to pick a line when the going got tough. I could just dump the clutch in 3rd and blast a line about anywhere. Very, very fun!

I get bored if i'm not building. Last years project will be a tough one to beat... Next years project will be in two levels. I was asked a lot about a particular question. I will build based on that next year.

Hey mtn-doo, do you only build one a year?

I build a demo package about once a year to push things along. There is a lot to be played with. Something for everyone. I am starting now on the 13/14 project. Not a turbo. You will like it. If you have a build plan and need some help, let me know. If you want to have a particular package built for you, I will do that also. Anything you need, just ask.

Thanks

Thanx mtn-doo, I will keep that in mind if all goes well with my new snowbike rental & guiding business I'm starting in Whistler.

This was a killer build, absolutely love it! This is the reason I put together a 300 2 smoker, its not going to ever be a 500 but sure will be fun on the pipe.thanks mtn-doo

It was fun. Best project I've done in a while.

I am doing a lot of studying on the 300. I have a plan coming together. They produce 51.8 hp stock. That is pushing the 450F bikes. You can make the XCW motor much more with the XC porting and ecu. The best is the 300SXS mod. Call Munn Racing. "KTM" race shop in TX. The 300SXS conversion is scairy to ride on dirt!!! Will be a super fun Short track, "tree blaster". E-start, 2.5 gal fuel. Light weight and VERY agressive. I will do the 300SXS mod with a 38MM smart carb, pro-circuit exhaust. I feel it would be ton's of fun. Zero maintenance, and a summer piston swap for $200 bucks..... Hmmmmm

Theck this out....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUDx9M1jhA8 Crank up the volume!!! :clap2:

I would stay away from the Pro Circuit pipe. I have one on my 300. FMF us way better and stronger.

Okay, Thanks. The MXA test was with the "Platinum", specifically designed for the 300SX, not mass produced for each. Made the best all around power, but thin wall and damage prone.... eeks...

MXA 300 Test; Quote,... In search of more power, we mounted a Pro Circuit KTM 300XC exhaust system on the 300XC. (We were surprised that they made a pipe specifically for the 300XC.) It was awesome. The aftermarket pipe wiped out the 250SX’s advantage from 7500 rpm to 8000 rpm and in the process added 3-1/4 horses at 7000 rpm, two horses at 8000 rpm, 1-7/8 horsepower at 9000 rpm and almost six horsepower at 9500 rpm! (The 300XC signs off before 10 grand.) That doesn't mean that the pipe increased the peak horsepower from 51.02 to 57.02 horsepower, only that it filled in extra horsepower where it would do the most good.

They said it is a thin wall and damage prone though.
