Serious bog issues in Deep Pow

This is my second Pro. First was a 14. My new 163 2.6 with the fancy gauge (relevant cause I think the first time I noticed the bog was when I didn't wait for my gauge to load) really has some bogging issues in deep pow. I've checked to make sure intake and exhaust clear. When it happens RPM's won't go above 4300. Neither regular pro had any issues with bogging in the deep pow today. To make sure it wasn't rider error. All four riders experienced the bogging, and I had zero issues when I switched to an older pro. Sled has about 130 miles on it. Through the first 2.5 hrs. Don't remember what the second break in metric was.
Elevation was 9-11k. On the trail at wide open I see 8100-8200 rpm.

Could it be something hanging up with the clutches and not letting them back shift if the intake and exhaust are both clear?

Check your throttle cable adjustment, the cable stretches and will cause issues just like your having. Eric

that sounds like something more serious than a powder bog

keep us informed in what you find out

i second the throttle cable. Its at the point where is could have stretched enough to cause you to be hitting the safety switch. Super easy thing to check and adjust.

Mine powder bogs too... The intake vents get covered really quickly and the new porous intake box doesn't seem to help. Mine bogged out several times in the deep snow. Clearing the intake screens brought it right back every time. Has to be an over the hood day. I rode yesterday after the snow had settled some and didn't have a single issue. I looked at the flow rite set up SLP has but on a powder day that placement isn't going to be any better than the stock intake as far as I can see.

i'm starting to think a big ol flow rite under the hood somewhere may be needed

I added the "Between the Lines" POWAIR Intake Vents- $14.95 (3″ Vent) in the airbox under the hood. It's a pretty cool design. When the engine is not calling for more air the rubber diaphragm behind the screen stays closed. This diaphragm only open when there's the need for more air... like when your main intakes are clogged with snow. Helps to keep the sled from grabbing hot air from under the hood when the main air intakes are clear, but when they clog up with snow you'd rather have some warmer air for then engine vs. no air. Check out there youtube video to help paint how they work. I've had great luck with these on my other PRO's

Axys fault

Has anyone had faults flag up, I have a 173 SPN -10FMI maching bogs out and only goes to 7100rpm. It is not in the manual 173 refers to the exhaust temp sensor but there is nothing for the 10FMI. I went to the dealer but they are waiting for a response from Polaris

Bog issues-
There is couple things we have noticed in the stock file that may be causing this when intakes are snow covered. The main thing is that the stock fuel mapping does not adjust correctly for intake temps above 45 degrees F. This will cause the sled to act very rich and boggy. Many times while logging air temp in deep powder with snow covered intakes I would have 80 - 90 degree intake air temps and the stock tune is inadequate for this scenario. This condition is even more pronounced in Break-in mode from even more added fuel.

The best way to fix this dilemma is a Reflash with our BullyDog GT Programming which corrects for Air Intake Temp to 120 Deg F and will force Machine out of Break in Mode. No worry on Breaking in properly either since we run richer oil mixtures than Polaris does on the electronic oil pump.

We do have tunes available for Bmp Modified and Stock Sleds

Where would u put the vents on the new Axys

If you're asking about the air intake vent from (Between The Lines) which opens when the stock air intakes are clogged... it can go on the backside of the air box. Just take off the dash part of the airbox and you'll see a nice flat area on the backside... use the right size hole saw, then just snap the round vent in. Obviously make sure plastic shavings from cutting the hole are cleaned out of the airbox. There ya go.

I had this pop up when i ran the slp resistor.

(Full slp pipe set comes with it)

Took it out and all smiles now.

It actually fell apart as I removed it.

Mine and my brothers sleds are like the opposite of powder bog.

You can cut endless exhaust side carves with huge piles of snow on the console and there isnt a burble or bog at all.

I would check for a loose connector in the wiring harness.
Especially the exhaust temp sensor wiring.

I experienced this power bog today several times. The air intake vents kept getting covered in snow. I was riding to four feet of powder and mostly noticed it when I stopped. Ie it didn't happen during boondocking runs. A quick swipe across the vents to clear them resolved the issue ever time.

My 14 pro was doing same thing in deep powder last week..It was on ethanol setting, as soon as i put it on 91 it was a lot better..I was at 11000 feet ..
