What is the sensor that is below the antifreeze return line in back of the motor that bolts upwards into the head of an 06 900? Where can i get a layed out picture of that to see if there is any washers or how it looks bolting on to engine. Installed my motor and found antifreeze is leaking out below the fitting and above that sensor. Looks like the threads from the bolt from that sensor split open a small hole in the head!!!! Didnt tighten it to much. Dont know what the heck happened!!! Need help! Gonna need a new head too!!!

Skibreeze is right. That is the DET sensor. Just a bolt that holds the sensor to the head. You can get a picture from a place like Dirt Cheap Sled Parts. It is usually listed as part of the cylinder picture.

The leak you described may be coming from the connection on the cooling hose or maybe a small hole in the cooling hose. I would try to tighten the connection from the hose to the head. Make sure the hose clamp is on the skinny portion of the metal that comes from the head. Not on the lip of the metal connection. If it is on the lip you will not get a good seal and it will leak under pressure.

Why do you think you need a new head?

A cooling system pressure tester with a import adapter works well! Also check coolant bottle cap itself as they do go bad. If it is you can steal one off most subarus or toyotas!!!!!

Pretty sure that the DET sensor does not go into the water jacket of the engine. Your leak has to be from the hose or hose fitting.
