Segelsen Creek?

anyone ever ridden out of Segelsen Creek snow park?
http://www.parks.wa.gov/winter/parks/motorparks.asp?Park=25

up in Everett for the week and looking for some close spots to explore. Also how about out on the Mt Loop Highway past Granite Falls? No snow parks but looks like lots of potential.

A buddy of mine was up there a few days back (Segelsen Creek) and at that time didn't have to go too far up the road to get to the snow. It should be even better now.
Ther really isn't much for off road riding up there except for up on top, just a ways past the microwave tower.
It's mostly just a road ride but it's all good right?
Kind of a small place but still fun and about the closest place to Everett as you can get.
Of course there is always Mt Baker which is not too far away from Everett for some of the absolute best riding in the state but If you're not familiar with the place PLEASE find some folks in the snow park you can hook up with to avoid getting lost or heading down into a ravine with no way out!
Most of the folks who ride there are great people and will gladly show you how to get onto the mountain.

The Mt Loop Hiway seems like a good place to find some fun riding but unless you are a local with a good knowledge of the area you'll be hard pressed to find any. Plus, it's the type of area that I would not leave my rig parked for long without worrying about having the windows shot out...or worse.

If you want a great place to take the whole family for a day of riding go over hi-way 2 to the Fish Lake snow park. I ride there a lot and it's one of the, if not THE best place for grooming and signage. Ther are a few really great places that are fairly challenging for an experienced rider too.
Highway 2 can be a real beotch when it's icy but take it slow going down hill and you'll be glad you drove the extra few miles when you get there as opposed to Segelson.

My wife and I are headed there tomorrow (Christmas Day) if the pass isn't too bad.

Merry Christmas
