Secondary Clutch Sticking Fusion 900

My clutch engages in forward and reverse without issue while there is no load on teh skid. Like when its rear end is off the ground. But when teh rear end is on the ground and I jump on to go forward teh clutch engages but barely moves. Looking at the clutch I see the belt is still in the middle of the secondary and not rising back to the top. Anyone have any idea why a load on the skid would have this affect on the clutch? Better yet, anyone know what the problem is? It seems like I can go forward at first but if I try to go in reverse thats when it "sticks". My best guess would be a bad bearing. Any help?

Check jackshaft bearings after you pull secondary and disassemble, look for spring damage/binding.......update helix if you haven't yet.
Let us know!!

where is teh jack shaft bearing? teh sled has a clutch kit installed from EPI. The yellow spring broke and replaced with a stock spring(black i think). Since then it has been doing this. Does the action of the secondary have anything to do with the primary spring. The secodndary has an orange spring in it. It looks ok but how can you tell if it is bad? The problem only seems to start after I try to drive in reverse under load.

Sounds like you have clutch issues, primary (engine) clutch is specific to 900 and must be rebuilt using 900 parts, secondary (track) clutch is team set up.
Read stickies at top of forum and ck ALL the basics, jackshaft ties secondary to chaicase and rides on bearing.
Manual in stickies should help you out. Is helix sticking in sec? should be free.
Ck springs by measuring height.

teh broken primary was replaced with a stock primary for the 900 Fusion. I cna get teh same clutch kit for $100 with springs and helix. If this fixes teh problem great but if not then would replacing the secondary be next? I can get a used one in good condition for $100 as well. what else would be left after that?

might be bad rollers in your secondary...

you need to take the helix off and pull the rollers and inspect them, and also see if the secondary spring is broken..

you should put a derlin washer on each end of the spring cup in the secondary as well...

i dont think the primary has any effect on your issue..

or could be a bad bearing on the jackshaft/driveshaft thats "cocking" something to the side and preventing it from moving when it has weight on it...

look into the secondary first, and move your way thru the drivetrain from there.

good luck.

I replaed the belt. Original belt was a Poalris 115 and replaced it with a Carlisle x809. Teh problem seems to have cleared itself up but now I have a really high squeel coming from the primary. Squeel kinda goes away after sled starts to move. teh belt is sitting jsut above the clutchabut 2-3 mm.

Belt deflections set too tight. Loosen up the deflection till the squeel goes away and you'll be good.
