Sec. Sheath rubbing..

Moveable sheath on secondary has been rubbing on the clamp that is holding the cable. It's between 10-11 o'clock position. A 1/16" of the rubber coating on the clamp I'd say has been rubbed away, and into the metal. Clutch sheath looks fine... I've check that it is the sheath, and not the belt.

Stock with one delrin, and I have set the float where I want it, but can't remember my measurement.

No real big deal, just wondering if anyone else has noticed it.

Mine is doing that too. I took a hammer and smashes the clamp down a bit.

Anybody check their clutch alignment? Or how many shims between the secondary and Jackshaft bearing?

I haven't this year, but the last two seasons I've checked it as a pre-season deal... Changed my shimming and set float initially, but not sure how many I've got in there.

I have however, had my primary machined/balanced by Dan. My clutches, especially my secondary are getting full shift. Getting my primary set right, may be shifting the secondary a touch more.

Just picked up a 12. Are you guys just checking alignment with a straight edge from secondary and the gap between the edge and the belt? How far have these been off? When you say float, are you talking about where on the jack shaft you want your secondary?

I use SLP's alignment tool. Alignment won't be straight, or inline, so a straight edge won't work.

Float is the amount the secondary slides in n out on the shaft. Their are shims (washers) in two places with mounting the secondary. Used for alignment, along with float.

The Pro's seem to be pretty good from the factory ( at least the ones I've checked). Much better than the IQ chassis...

Cool thx, came from an XP with no "float" just a fixed station, didn't know that these had some play already...
