Seat removal...01 Mountain cat

Is the seat on an 01 mountain cat attached to the gas tank or can they be removed seperately. If so how? I had the seat almost off it jus seemed like it was attached to the tank

yes they are connected you have to unhook the lines and take the tank off with the seat

So how do they put on the "clear" fuel tank and retain the stock seat?

I have seen guys cut them apart.

im not sure about the tank but i know my old man switched out his seat and he just cut them apart

At least some if not all of the 2002 Mountain Cats had a clear tank and the seat as one assembly.

agreed, i believe they all did could be wrong. most just had a black cover on them

Yes my 02 MC had a clear tank with the seat attached. I know a bunch of peeps cut them off so they could have them in two pieces, like the 03 to 06 MC's and Kings. I swapped mine out for a 1m tank and a King seat a few years back. Worked great for me!

I had a '01 800 and it had a clear tank. I cut the seat off and mounted a 1M seat. It was easy. You just need the attachment hardware for the rear. The front of the 1M seat will side right under the '01 tank once it is trimmed right.
