anyone running one? thoughts on reliability? What kind of boost/hp can be achieved with minimal race fuel mix? Can these sleds be ridden 2500 miles a season without problems? Can you easily transition the tune to accomodate high altitude riding 2 weeks a season?

sea level pgt

My father in law ran a bd turbo setup on an 09 m8 at sea level to about 2000ft, running 50/50 mix of 110 and 91 octane on 9.5 lbs. He had about 2000 miles on the sled before we put new pistons in it. There were no signs of deto and very little blowby on the rings. the setup was extremely reliable and would stomp all over my n/a D&D 1200

How was his injector duty cycle not maxed out? In my experience an M8 with no auxiliary injectors would be maxed out at 8 or so pounds at sea level no matter what fuel you ran.

replace stock with larger injectors

Sorry, I was mistaken,:face-icon-small-dis he was running a consistent 8.5 lbs with the duty cycle maxed at 98-99

am runinng a 09 twisted race gas extreme kitted m8 @ 1750-2500ft

5-6 psi runing 50/50 91-112 race fuel

going to be turning the boost up in the comming days, but only want to run 50/50 mix...straight is way too expensive!!!

hope to end up at 7lbs or so

Is thier any way you can use a turbo on 91 @ sealevel.

Pull out some compression and possibly a little timing. Also tinker a little with the pipe stinger to control pressure and piston heat-a good effective intercooler would be a huge benefit as well. You will always be running less boost than the guys at more altitude on the same fuel....but you have MUCH better air to begin with!

it can be done.

i would love to see a Methanol injection setup for our sleds...the use of lower octane fuels would quickly offset the price of the kit for all of us...

Lower your CR to 10:5 or 11:1 with a RKT or CPC head, and you will be good to go on 6-8psi @ sealevel...

Anyone know what the 2010 M8 CR is? Could you run 6 psi with Avgas 100 (105 MON) on a 2010 with out changing the head?

Jason

2010 m8 bd pg ,09 head,ic/fan. run at 2000' using straight 91 / four onces lucas octane booster @ 6,5 lbs boost no problems.
