Scratchers that do not break?

I've got 2 seasons on the over the top ones with no issues either...

Kinda makes me wonder what you're doing as several of my buddies have them and none of us have broken them...

We do not back up with them down either though

Are you backing up with them down? I know they claim you can back up with them down but I'm not trying it

We were using the stock pro rmk scratchers and they didn't last very long. Replaced them with a brand called "Stay Cool", and they have held up 3 times as long without breaking so far.

Friend Had to stop countless times to let engine cool yesterday because those garbage things wouldnt spray barely anything. Its a cable. What do u expect

Second season on the DuraFlex scratchers with carbide tips. Always cool and lubed. I unload the sled, drop them and don't touch them until I get back tot he truck.

On my second set of RSI standard ice scratchers this season. Minnesota ditch riding wears them down fast.:face-icon-small-dis They work great for me. I get them from FirstPlaceParts.com

Not a fan of the cable type.

i had a set of dura-flex cables on my proclimb. took them off after the 1st ride. they were garbage, hardly kicked any snow up

I ran the ice-storms last year on a week long 1600 mile trail trip in Quebec, down the entire time and worked great. Backed into the trailer at the end of the trip and bent the scratchers up in the door. My fault completely.

2nd set this winter only lasted 100 miles and broke at the bend.

3rd set is holding up well thus far with about 300 miles on them.

I like the new hangers to keep them off your rails.

Highly recommend Duraflex. If they aren't spraying enough snow you haven't installed them correctly. There should be a significant amount of pressure onto the ground when installed correctly. So much on mine that they can be a pain to put back up. 2012 Pro RMK never see over 129 on the trails even in super hard pack or warm days. Plowed roads about 140. I only put them up when I am in the woods or back country riding all day. Usually I just leave them down even in the woods.

Great customer service as well had one fall off and they replaced it free of charge.

I have not seen or heard of any brand that does not break eventually. I have had stock scratchers snap and bend, aftermarket ones that look like stock break, We have had some ice storms break, and have had some issues with duraflex cables pulling out of the crimped attachment point.

Scratchers to me are a wear item and for that reason I carry backups with me in my trailer/tool box. Myself and our group that I ride with have put a lot of miles on ice storms, duraflex and sta-cool scratchers. I can go a long time on a set but have yet to see a set last a lifetime.

The good news is we sell just replacement springs and parts. Also, any that have failed prematurely have been replaced by our manufactures under warranty. I work close with Rod from Over The Top Perforamnce to take care of these issues. Also, Duraflex has replaced several set for us under warranty as well.

Here is a link to the key brands we sell as well as some replacement parts.

Yes there awesome. Not even 1 seasonView attachment 230406

I'll bet you could get that replaced under warranty. I'm still running some slidekicks (pre-cursor to DuraFlex, same company) on my older sleds that have more than five seasons on them.

They WILL NOT throw as much snow as a wire scratcher but they don't need to. I've been running them since the first season they were made on all of my sleds (currently 9) and I DO NOT HAVE OVERHEAT ISSUES. I've had one that the crimp failed on that was replaced under warranty and my wife lost one a couple weeks ago. Other than that I am still running some of my original sets. I need to replace some non-carbide tips that are worn and a couple are bent funny after so many miles but they are all still doing their job. Like I said in an earlier post I never put them up, ever. Once in a great while you might hook one on the trailer ramp but mainly they are just out of sight out of mind for me. I have tons of bent and broken wire scratchers in a box in my shop if anybody wants them.

I got about half a season on the Ice Storm. I was one of the failures. First the tip came off, then broke both on the same weekend. Last part of the season on Dura Flex. I'm running about the same temps on the trail. Within 2 degrees anyway. I leave them down nearly all the time and have only had to retighten one so far.
