Scratchers for a Pro?

I broke the ones of my 2012 and need to replace. I was thinking of the cable ones, since I like backing up with them down...or should I just replace with the regular style? Anyone have recommendations? Just want some that work really well as you know these Pros run warm.

i have been running cable style for several years now with great success.trail riding on hard pack i ran 160 scratchers down 125-130.i see they have a even better style now.i took my s/b out to togwotee last spring late i was riding with other mountain sleds early in the morning mine was running 125 others we had to stop and let cool down and burning hifax!!i made rubber pads out of gas line and hooked on rails so they would not gouge rails.

x2700, what track are you running? I would bet that if you are running the stock 144 on a S/b you are not going to see the same temps you would on a pro.

running stock 136 track. so yes that would probably make a big difference.i was skeptical when i first started using them if they would work or not.i had wire ones before.and also i thought in the past who needs scratchers anyways?now that i started using them never go back.cold morning fresh groomed trail night before like concrete other sleds heating up no problems here!!

This does look neat! I might try a set, wonder what logevity is like and when you run them over rocks (it periodically happens where we ride between ranges). Anyone run these? Almost looks they could design the tab to fit on regular scratchers...

would be cool to see them go on a stock scratches, but they wouldnt make as much money. i would try them if they did have ones for the stockers. i will probably get a set when mine break.

Big D rmk700 &
pawpaw are dead on.

Stock all the way. The only downfall of having reverse.:face-icon-small-con
Ours will run at 125 all day on any trail. And if you do a lot of trail riding I would suggest one or two Polaris wheel kits to save on your hi-fax. They come in Pairs. We use them when riding in MN but take them off when we head out west. $.02

Ive seen the cable ice scratchers get frozen upwards a little bit so there not even touching the snow, there nice with the reverse situation, but not enough down pressure IMO.

Didn't use the old style cable scratchers. But I've got a couple sets of the new ones and they work. Leave them down constantly, never even have to think about them. On very solid ice trails they were cooling xp's by 3-4 bars consistently, even going slow. Tons of downward pressure, load and unload, rocks, dirt, they still look new.

I ran them most of last season! They worked awesome! Literally twice the spray as my standard scratchers that I have been making for 11 years now. Twice the spray = twice the cool!

I made the Reversible prototypes out of billet 316 stainless and production runs out of cast 316 stainless. The stainless has longevity.

When testing these, I purposely left them in the down position when driving across gravel last June to get to the snowline to see if they would break or wear. They still look great!!

And yes.....they will bolt right into the stock holes on the Pro

CFR Scratchers

Well I just ordered a set and will give them a go this year.

Is there any type of warranty with these? More less for them breaking, that was actually the problem with the stock ones we had, I never backed up with them and they just snapped while down.

They look like a great product and hope they work well!

Well, ask anyone who has bought my standard scratchers. The spring steel seems to last longer than other manufacturers.

If you do break one, send me a PM and I will take care of you. I hope Dave at CFR got these out to you aleady! You will like them!

Where can you get these? Will they work on the 136" Switchback?

Right on, I look forward to trying them! Thanks
