Schribers Report/ Mt. Baker

Question for the local Mt. Baker gang. Any reports on conditions as of 1-29. I would like to ride this weekend at Schribers. I have a ways to drive up there and would rather come to snow than ice.

I've been up there the past 2 weekends.Last weekend was nothing but ice all the way up to 7000' by Big House. It has been snowing up there but is 30 degrees and overcast as of 1:40 pm today. I have left a message at the Mt. Baker ranger station for an update on Schreibers so as soon as I find out will post reply.

Just got off the phone with baker ranger station.Looks like almost 11" of fresh snow.


A website you can go to is washington snotel and for baker you would go to either wells creek.......elbow lake....or marten ridge and it will show the snow totals.You go to that website and click on the 2nd link down for the 7 day report.

Went up yesterday and there is about a foot of new.

Be CAREFUL though as it is extremely hard ice right under the fresh.
Lots of track spinning going up and fast coming downhill

The trail was groomed as nice as I have ever seen it

Yeah, one foot is just enough to fool you into carving, then a ski catches some old tracks and hucks your arse right off the sled!

Then you look really cool.
