sc apex not starting

There is a fairly large grey plug (1inch or so square) on the clutch side delta box area. This is where the GEMS plugs in so you unplug the two ends from the GEMS pigtail and plug the two factory connections back together. Very easy to do.

If you don't want to do that I would suggest trying to make it run long enough to play with mode 1 and mode 6 to see if you can clean up the idle. Matt at MPI is a great resource. Also, be sure and print the GEMS instructions that show each mode setting and carry with you....it is very helpful.

Run the self check on the throttle position sensor. Had one go out a yr ago. Fought it real bad for a week. sent gems in and it was not that. Finally in the tech manual there is a special section for the throttle position sensor to diagnose it. Its done on the display. My bet is that its that. Mine would only start if the throttle was held partially open. Fairly easy fix too other than a little pricey .

Thought I better post the results. I changed out the plugs (not as easy as it should be) and it fired up immediately. Ran great.

You flooded it. Its rare but happens, one thing to remember is to never start the sled and shut it off right away (say loading) it needs to warm up or run a bit (get it loaded and let it run for 2 mins), quick start and stops will flood it. Not sure why but I avoid it because yeah the plugs are a PITA to change!

your box is adding to much fuel at idle the apex is a bioch when it fouls the plugs you may as well just through them away & put a new set in when it happens.

I'm having a simular issue right now:
Sled fires and shows 14.5 on the air/fuel, then the idle slowly degrades as the air/fuel drops to 10.0. Finally it quits running.

Basically it wont idle, but it will run awesome wide open.

with your boost it box you are adding fuel too soon, without my box in front of me i forget witch side it is. your box is adding fuel at idle it should not add fuel till about 5lbs boost.i think its the left knob i will look when i get home & let you know.
