Last season, I grenaded my Fox Zero Pro...the front torque arm tab broke off of the arm. The fox still holds a charge, but got quoted $250 to repair it. I had the 225# spring on it, and it helped the steering effort a lot. I found an "aftermarket Walker Evans remote reservoir" shock for the front track shock off of a 06 RMK 900. I landed a pretty good deal on it, and the seller reports that it currently holds a charge and is in excellent condition. I like the fact that it has the clicker on it, I should be able to fine tune the entire rear suspension now.
I do have a few questions, though:
1) Will my old 225# spring still fit on the WE?
2) Where does the reservoir mount to...the rail?
3) I ride 70/30 trail/off-trail, will it need to be valved differently?
4) Did I make a bad choice with the WE? Is the Fox the better shock?
5) The Fox rode pretty stiff after everything was set up beautifully (as far as transfer and handling goes). Is this more of a shock setting, or a spring setting? Can I go dual rate springs for the track shock coils to remedy this problem?
Thanks in advance to all help!
