She had that shirt made as a show of support for one of the bridges. (there were two bridges actually)

When public opinion turned overwhelmingly against the bridges she changed her position. Well actually she quit talking about it and moved on, essentially "ignorring it to death"

The whole Bridge to Nowhere controversy was BS from the get-go. The original BTN was from Ketchikan AK to Gravina Island where the town's airport is located. The justification for the bridge, besides improving the transportation infrastructure, was to allow reliable access to the airport. Currently the town uses a daylight-only ferry. The proposed construction cost was so high because the bridge had to be tall enough to accomodate cruise ships. It seems the Love Boat operators (who have tons of stroke in AK) didn't want to reroute around Gravina, so they set their lobbyists to work.

The other bridge would've spanned Knik Arm to connect Anchorage and Point MacKenzie. Anchorage, AK's principle city, is stuck. Hemmed in by mountains, ocean and military bases it can't grow. 3 -4 miles (depending on who's proposal) away is virtually undeveloped Pt. Mac. The options for Anchorage were build a bridge or eat it's parks and wetlands. Anchorage has a nice system of popular parks and trails so that would be political suicide. Wetlands can be developed but that involves lengthy and expensive legal wrangling, and is also very unpopular. Besides, wetlands development is far more expensive to build on.

The land at Pt Mac looks like pristine woods but it's been subdivided and platted for 40 years.

The second Bridge to Nowhere was actually a bridge to new economic growth, but that doesn't make for a good sound bite.

The T-shirt in the pic refers to the Knik/Pt Mackenzie bridge.

How about the $22 million she left that city in debt and still didn't get them a sewer treatment plant, but instead got a sporting complex built?

She "dismissed" the State Trooper detachment, it was because her sister was in a custody battle. The father and ex-husband was a state trooper. Palin wanted him fired, when his commander refused he was then fired.

Talk about a fool that keeps repeating regurgitated crap. The "trooper detachment" that she dismissed had to do with personal bodyguards, (errand boys and chauffers) that were assigned as part of the Governors staff.

Get a grip will ya?

again, I am not saying it is not right, I said it is not the way things are supposed to happen, you can't just make up your own rules. There are policies and procedures to follow.

Yup, there are, and when people fail to enforce them, they run the risk of being fired as well...in supervisory roles, and management, if you are aware of a problem, and do nothing, you compromise the organization for failure to enforce its own rules...and as the executive when you have supervisors/managers who fail to carry out their responsibilities, you HAVE to deal with that too or run the risk of major lawsuits some can even pierce the corporate veil to get personal liability!!! (Part of Sarbanes Oxley legislation puts HUGE penalties on this)

Failure to enforce those policies get the leadership chain in trouble, as they KNEW the problem and have done nothing about it...

So the policies and procedures your talking about were clearly not being enforced, and if tha tis the case, it was a violation of those peoples supervisors...

When they (Supervisors) refuse to take action you have two paths to take...discipline them for failure to do their job (competency) or discipline them for unwillingness to do their duties (insubordination)...

As to the facts of the situation, you dont know them, nor do I but your argument does nto hold water...

bashing is as full of crap as the sewer is and not worth digging on

the dismissed trooper detail has NOTHING to do with the trooper dismissal...the trooper detail is about security for the governor and travels with her/him like secret service...

the trooper dismissal is the cheap shot your discussing, and know little about the actual facts and details, but rest assured if there was any wrongful actions, the union would have CLEARLY taken liberty to go after her as well as some happy lawyer for wrongful termination...notice none of those happened?

You voted for Hillary didn't you? You should probably just sell your sled and join a bird watching club!

As a 20 year citizen of that city she was mayor for 8 years and having worked with her in a mayoral capacity I think i should chime in. Did you see how much the city was in debt before she got there? Did you see what city money she spent and what returns it will provide in the future to negate that initial investment? Also, Wasilla does have and has had a sewage treatment plant. Wasilla has an extremely low population density and expanding the existing city water and sewer to cover the entire city boundary would not be cost effective.

True facts and well said by all...well, except for one(you know who you are)! Beer for all except for bootcamp pup:beer;

Hey mile high, is there a bridge to nowhere in alaska...???? nope didn't think so.

zero debt? ha that's a good one, you couldn't find a city in our country with zero debt.

There are plenty of cities with zero debt.

You are just spouting off, you have not backed up ANY of your argument.

There is no bridge there because someone (Not Palin) caught onto this. She only removed her support when it became unfavorable and when the media got a hold of it. She only removed her support because she knew what it meant if she didn't. The money was also never given back and there is a road in place that would connect to the bridge that is not there.

She only removed her support because she knew what it meant if she didn't. What would it have meant? Got any facts to back this up?

The money was also never given back and there is a road in place that would connect to the bridge that is not there. I have seen alot of dead ends in my time, got one just around the corner. Maybe its connecting to a bridge to nowhere......?

Tisk.

The city had ZERO debt before she got there, and they were $22 million in debt when she left.

She also left Wasilla with a $15 million dollar sports complex and increased infrastructure and capital improvements. That is the $22 million in long term debt referenced in the blatantly anti-Palin articles you are getting your info from. Where do you think this money comes from?
